Consider your guests

You will want the live music you choose for your wedding to appeal to all of your guests.

When selecting music for the ceremony this is not usually a concern as the music is generally much lighter and used more for effect than entertainment.

However, when choosing music for your evening reception you will need to consider the musical tastes of your guests, their age groups and whether or not they will want to dance or listen.

We can use the following as a guide:

For an audience of all age groups:
Pop Rock covers band, swing jive band, soul band, pop tribute band
For a middle aged audience:
Pop covers band, selected tribute bands, 70's and funk bands, Soul & R&B bands, swing jive bands, Latin& salsa bands, jazz bands
For a mature audience (50+)
Jazz bands, rock n' roll bands, ceilidh bands, swing jive bands, selected tribute bands, Latin& salsa bands, 60's & light pop covers bands, classical ensembles

We can also use the following as a guide:

Bands to get people dancing
Pop & rock covers bands, swing jive bands, soul & R&B bands, Latin & salsa bands, selected tribute bands, 70's & funk bands, ceilidh bands, Irish bands, steel bands
Bands for back ground music
Jazz bands, classical ensembles, guitar solo and duos, harpists, pipers, pianists, singers, selected steel bands

In all cases, it is best to check with us first as we will be able to offer a clearer guide as to the suitability of all our artists for your event.

You can use the 'mail to a friend' facility on each artists profile page to send a link to your guests. They can then visit each bands page and reply to you giving their opinions of whether the bands you have initially selected are to their taste.

In the next section we will consider the songs or music you'd like your chosen band to play.
