What Do They Do?
Munch perform at over 100 wedding receptions a year providing the ‘first dance’ for many a happy couple. They also play at private parties, festivals, charity and corporate events - in fact almost anywhere! They know how to woo any crowd every time!

What Have They Done Before?
Munch have been performing professionally all over the U.K and Europe since the late 90s and have entertained some of the most prestigious audiences in the country including the Royal Court Theatre clients such as BMW, the Beatles Festival, the Labour party conference 2006 and 2008, Durham Castle, the Carling Academy and too many football stadiums to mention!

Carl (Drums) has been a professional drummer for 10yrs, gaining a diploma in music in the early 90s then went on to play for Del Amitri, the Bassheads (of "is there anybody out there" fame) the Christians and as recently as last year, played for China Crisis supporting the Jam reunion gig in Lincoln castle. Was also employed by wirral arts council for a few years working in stage management, sound and lighting. Based in and around the pacific rd venue worked with acts like Courtney Pine, Ruby Turner, and Bill Brufford (yes). He now has his own drum teaching studio in Liverpool city centre as well as playing full time with Munch!! Favourite drummers are John Bonham, Mitch Mitchell and Buddy Rich. Challenges anybody not to get their dancing shoes on when he's on the kit!!

Michael (Lead vocals, Guitar, MC and DJ) who was taught his trade by the guitarist from the La’s in the late 80’s and is a professional session musician who writes records and produces, currently promoting his own music with several albums released and even tracks featuring on the soundtracks to two major film releases!

Dave (Lead guitar/vocals) and Completing the 4 piece is Nik Ewen (Lead/Backing vocals/Guitar and Bass): producer and studio owner working with the likes of The Farm, Tom Robinson and the Shamen and who has performed at venues such as Glastonbury and the Royal Albert Hall!

Over the past 10 years the band has toured from John O’ Groats to Lands End, Holland to Tunisia, Ireland to the Isle of Man, meeting wonderful people and doing something they truly love; no wonder they’re so happy to perform!

What Sort of Music Do They Play?
This dynamic and good-humoured band pride themselves on a varied repertoire that suits all ages. Munch can encourage singers and musicians from the crowd even getting the kids involved with tambourines and dance routines. It’s never an “us and them” situation with Munch - once you see them enjoying themselves you won’t be able to resist dancing and singing along!

Munch play lively danceable hits from the 50s right through to present day No 1s also provided in the shape of their optional DJ package.

Additionally extra songs can be learnt prior to your event for only a small extra fee and with at least 4 weeks’ notice. Munch always provide background music between sets free of charge - and you are invited to bring along a compilation CD or MP3 player to play through their sound system.

What Will the Band Look Like?
The band’s standard line-up consists of professional male session musicians with a vast wealth of experience in the industry. For a more 'chilled out' set they are available as an acoustic act; skiffle style performing their standard line-up and sets only on a smaller quieter scale. Please ask your agent for details.

The band is very well turned out in their appearance and attitude and they always wear friendly smiles! The four-piece band can take up very little space and requires a minimum of only 4 x 4 meters’ stage space.

Your Event
Rather than pay an artist to wait around until you are ready why not put them to good use as an acoustic set during the quieter parts of your day before the party gets started? Or why not save an acoustic set for later in the evening around the bar? Munch are completely flexible and are the only band you need for an all-day event. Munch will play sets of 45 minutes or 60 minutes with breaks where they will provide you with background music of mixed styles for no extra cost. CDs can be brought along to the event to be incorporated into the background music ensuring your event will be both stimulating and professional.

The band are happy for you to make some suggestions as to what you definitely don't want to hear on the night - as for the rest of the set-list: leave it to the experts!

*Munch encourage audience participation! There’s always an extra guitar and microphone for any budding musicians in the audience who might want to show off their talents!*

Acoustic Set (see booking options for more details)
Munch can perform up to 2 x 30 minute sets of acoustic music, perfect for afternoon performances, drinks receptions or dinner entertainment.

The acoustic sessions include 2 acoustic guitars, percussion & 3 part-harmonies and you can expect stripped-back, 'live lounge' style versions of The Beatles, The La's, Snow Patrol, Jack Johnson and much more!

And for when the band are not playing...
There is also the option of music between sets and a DJ package. Like many modern DJs Munch use a laptop computer containing a huge amount of popular songs. These songs are mixed as they would be using CD decks and a band member will control the laptop in between live performances make basic announcements and take requests from guests. The band’s lights and PA system double-up for use during DJ sets. If you have any specific requests for music that you would like the DJ to include please forward any lists to me well in advance so the band can obtain as many of your preferred tracks as possible should any be missing from their collection.

As we are sure you can appreciate the service offered ‘in house’ by the band is significantly less than the cost of a normal DJ so we cannot guarantee every possible request can be met.

Equipment
The band’s show uses a professional 4000 watt Logic XF Pro PA system including: a Mackie CFX 16 channel mixer Sennheiser 604 drum microphones AKG D112 Bass Drum Microphone Electrovoice N/DYM 767 Vocal Microphones and Wharfdale and Mackie monitors - all ensuring you get a professional and crystal clear sound at your event regardless of the size of your venue.
