Music Played and Type of Show If you are looking for romantic classical and/or light popular music for your wedding ceremony or reception the sound of the solo cello is ideal for the occasion. When played with professionally produced backing tracks on CD it gives the full, rich sound of multiple instruments – but at a fraction of the cost.
Alternatively, if you are looking for a cost-effective alternative to the electric string quartet then take a look at Lizzy May's Electric Cello Show - an exciting and sensual fusion of classical and pop music. The performance is enriched by professionally produced dynamic backing tracks and the result is a unique musical and visual spectacular which will keep the audience spellbound. A PA system for up to 150+ guests (depending on environment) is included in the standard fee!
A typical repertoire includes pop versions of all-time classics such as Adagio for Strings by Barber, Bach’s Toccata and Fugue, Jai Ho from Slumdog Millionaire and Coldplay’s Viva La Vida.
Lizzy May always tailors her performances to the client's requirements but a popular format is to begin with up to 1 hour of elegant classical cello music as background to a drinks reception or during dinner. This is followed by a dramatic change in both costume and tempo which immediately gets the audience’s attention and the main high energy performance begins. The length of the main show is agreed in advance with the client but is typically 20-30 minutes.
Previous Experience Lizzy May won a scholarship to study cello performance for 6 years at Yehudi Menuhin’s international music school followed by 5 years at the RNCM and the Royal Academy of Music, gaining a 1st class degree and postgraduate distinction.
She has appeared on TV with Cheryl Cole, Leona Lewis, Sugababes, Westlife, Il Divo, Russell Watson, Aled Jones, Kasabian and Paul Potts and has recorded with James Blunt, Peter Kay, Judie Tzuke, Massive Attack, Emma Deigman, and Camilla Kerslake amongst others, as well as for the Britannia High TV series and the Take That video.
Last year she performed in 21 different countries. Venues include Japan, Jordan (to the Jordanian Royal Family), China, Thailand, India, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, New Zealand, Hawaii, Kuwait, Dubai, Bahrain, Turkey, Oman, Lebanon, Morocco and throughout Europe. In addition Lizzy May has collaborated with major producers/songwriters including X-Factor coach Eliot Kennedy.
Example Shows Available: The following options are ideal for weddings, corporate events and private parties/receptions.
1. Light background cello performance Up to two 45 minute sets of background music with or without CD accompaniment. This includes classical and/or pop music according to the client's requirements. It can be played on acoustic or electric cello.
2. The Electric Cello Show Up to 1 hour of background classical cello music with or without CD accompaniment, followed by an exciting, high energy 20-30 minute pop show with dynamic backing tracks and PA system.

"I wanted to let you know just what a resoundingly successful evening we held at High March last Friday 21st September, due, in no small part, to Lizzy May's truly excellent performance on her electronic cello.
Lizzy's musical and artistic talent, stage presence, grooming and charm all exceeded expectations, and our guests were "wowed".
We have received more complimentary e-mails about the musical entertainment than any other year for a long time, and would like to recommend Lizzy May for a suitable similar event without reservation.
Our Head of Music was suitably impressed, and we should love to invite Lizzy to return at some future point.
Yours sincerely,
Belinda Avery

"Alive Network provided a prompt and responsive service. The show put on by Lizzy May exceeded our expectations and was favourably commented on by all our guests as they left and again over the days subsequent to the performance.
Lizzy is a bright, cheerful, friendly and talented performer and I would not hesitate to ask her to return should we hold a similar event (an outdoor garden party)."

"Lizzy May provided a unique bridge to entertain our guests between the wedding breakfast ending and the later part of the evening as evening guests were arriving.
Visually she is beautiful and musically she delivered a clean, crisp and varied performance that reinforced her total professionalism which was on display throughout the wedding."

"Alive Network were extremely helpful and patient - they understood that whilst planning our wedding our time was precious and limited. They maintained contact with us rather than us having to contact them to clarify and confirm arrangements.
Lizzy May is absolutely amazing, she exceeded our expectations and made our ceremony unique and special. We were concerned at first that a solo cello would not have the necessary range to play the songs that we wanted - but we were so wrong.
Lizzy's performance was outstanding and all of our guests commented on how good she was. We are already planning to book Lizzy for our anniversary party!

"Am just dashing off to Dublin but need to compile this note for you to bring to the attention of whoever. Lizzie May/Fusion Strings were absoluetly brilliant. Lizzie and Marsha are a class act.
From arrival to departure their enthusiasm, spirit and demanour was so pleasant and our 80 guests just have not stopped talking about their magnificent performance.
With an age range of 9yrs old to 90, all were totally enthralled throughout the two set act. They were not only musically superb but were stunning and eye catching, with both music and choreography. Lighting and a back drop would take their perfection to the next level!
They need to raise their fees, and they would still be worth every penny!
A master piece of excellence, thank you and please pass on our sincere gratitude, especially from my wife Sarah (for whom Fusion were a complete surprise) and our friends and family from all over UK (and even a father from Australia).
Thank you again
Best Regards
Jon Earey
