“We are so incredibly grateful for how fantastic Mitch was performing DJ/percussion at our wedding evening. We couldn’t have asked for anyone better to kick the party off! The guests absolutely loved the dj/percussion combo and are all still talking about it! Mitch brought such fun and energy to the evening and it exceeded our expectations in every way! He was so personable and patient with alcohol fuelled guests and we honestly couldn’t have hoped for anyone better! Mitch is fabulously talented and we hope we have an occasion where we can have him join us again! I would 100% recommend, fantastic service from the initial enquiry through to the big day. “How fortunate we were to have Caroline and the delightful ladies from Northlights play at our wedding, each one of them possessing impressive musical prowess and with distinguished classical careers in highly reputed orchestras. The planning and coordination of pieces beforehand and on the day was seamless. So during the actual wedding, each previously chosen song was played as an accompaniment to significant moments: such as the entrance of the bride, the signing of the register, the bride and groom walking into the wedding breakfast room. Everything was timed perfectly. They had also learnt a few of the pieces especially for our wedding. In fact their renditions of the contemporary music we had asked for were not only flawless, but fantastic musical pieces in their own right, as diverse as Arctic Monkeys ‘Mardy Bum’, ‘Concerning Hobbits’ from the Lord of the Rings and Bowie’s ‘Life on Mars’. Furthermore, they were easy to recognise and yet the original was transformed into a beautiful string version. Indeed everything they performed for us was unquestionably beautiful, dare-I-say-it, even better than the string renditions on Bridgerton! Classical musical connoisseurs present were mesmerised and intoxicated by every note. As I looked around the room, I witnessed every generation at the wedding enjoying the quartet's performance. I heard so many positive comments from guests about them too. They delivered a simply captivating soundtrack to a joyous day for us. We cannot recommend them highly enough.”

“What can I say ! Wow. I met Tom at the Newcastle Wedding Fair - I loved his personality and voice. He had great communication throughout and has offered advice. On the day he did not disappoint - as a bride you tend to miss most things as your head is in a whirlwind. As I stood at the door ready to enter - I heard Tom and he was literally everything I could ask for and more ! Throughout the day, he kept my guests entertained with a wide selection of songs, it then came to the evening ! I thought the day was good - the evening just blew me away. My husband and I walked into a packed dance floor at the beginning of the night - which is unheard of ! From that point onwards, I never saw the dance floor empty , the atmosphere was amazing - I really can not say how happy I was with Tom. And if you are able to ! the duo that can be booked are equally amazing ! Thank you x”

“Technicolour put on a great performance for our wedding, with all guests loving the music and the dancefloor never being empty. They offered a helpful pre-wedding phone call where we could let them know what sort of music we wanted played, and they went through timings for the day which was really useful. This was especially useful as our venue had some sound/time restrictions so was reassuring to speak to the band about that before the day itself. They also learnt our first dance song which was a really nice touch and helped make it really memorable. 10/10 loved them for our wedding would recommend them to anybody planning a wedding or event.”

“What an incredible band and experience! My wife and I couldn't be happier for finding Funk It Up for our wedding. From the very start, Lilac and Remko carefully worked with us to prepare for our big day. They got to know us personally and had several meetings to make sure that we had the music and experience that we wanted. They even learned some songs and took requests to make the ceremony and reception special and unique to us. They provided their feedback and were able to give suggestions about the flow of the day since we had the band for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and the reception. They even adapted to have 3 different variations of the band for the reception - with a hora, a ceilidh, and funk band at different parts. And from the moment the band kicked off the party with "Africa" by Toto, the energy was relentless. The band and the guests were 100% committed to having a great time and dancing the night away. To this day, I still have guests commenting on how incredible the band was and how it was an unforgettable night because of them. If you are considering a band for your wedding, there is no better choice than Funk It Up. Book them before it's too late!”
