Sin Compás draw from the musicians of the critically acclaimed Trio Gitano TG Collective who have received a string of fine reviews for their appearances at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival, BBC Radio, BBC TV, The Stables, National Theatre and South Bank Centre, to tours around the UK's theatres, festivals, concert halls and arts centres.

Based around the two guitars of Sam and Jamie, the group can expand to include Double Bass, Flute, Violin, Trumpet, Cajon/Percussion and Flamenco Dance.  Touching on the influences and new arrangements of works by such varied artists as Paco de Lucia, Django Reinhardt, JS Bach and Horace Silver, the group also perform self-penned compositions and arrangements, moving through jazz, gypsy, hotclub, flamenco and contemporary classical influences.

Their debut album, released in 2005, featured at No.4 in The Sunday Times’ Records of The Year, alongside an appearance on BBC Radio Four’s Loose Ends, with the album also receiving airplay on BBC Radio Three, Four, Jazz FM and various worldwide stations.

Sin Compás are popular as a smaller ensemble for weddings, private bookings and high-profile corporate events, performing as a guitar duo, or a trio featuring multi-instrumentalist Percy on Double Bass, Trumpet and Cajon (percussion), who has performed with a range of popular artists, from Jamie Cullum to Elbow.

Their music brings a classy and youthful edge to the traditional gypsy jazz of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli, alongside lighter arrangements based around a handful of jazz standards and  classical pieces, with a further dimension bringing a little more upbeat and expressive flamenco inspired music.  A flautist or violin player can easily be added to the ensemble for an eclectic instrumental line-up.

Performances can be flexible, with two longer sets or three to four shorter sets easily adaptable, based loosely around two hours playing.  A high quality Mackie PA system is included, suitable for small to medium sized venues.  Background music in a similar style can be played between sets, or pop your iPod through their PA during breaks!

Recent bookings have taken Sin Compás to Barcelona and Cannes, The Palais des Festivales, Le Manoir Aux Quat' Saisons, Blenheim Palace, Highclere Castle, The Royal College of Art, Holland Park Orangery, Cafe de Paris, The Grosvenor House Hotel and Il Bottaccio in Mayfair, in additional to many small and intimate wedding and private performances.
