At that reception we had people present from all kinds of backgrounds, from factory workers in the woolen industry, to at least 1 GP, a medical Consultant, a TV personality (the anchorman fo...”“We really were so very pleased with the whole event. Both Helen & I (and perhaps more importantly, Ann & Adrian!) wouldn't hesitate for one moment from recommending you to other people needing Irish music! At that reception we had people present from all kinds of backgrounds, from factory workers in the woolen industry, to at least 1 GP, a medical Consultant, a TV personality (the anchorman for the "Calendar" News programme each night on Yorkshire TV), an irish professional dance accordian-player & singer from Northern Ireland with at least 12 albums to his name (my brother-in-law!), and 1 Tribunal Judge. -Every single person in the entire place came at some point and told us how much they had enjoyed the dance! The response was totally universal, so that says much more about the quality than I could ever say single-handed! And the Caller was superb! He held everything together so well. I think the 1st dance was done by people who didn't feel too challenged by the thought, as they had at least some vague experience of Irish dancing before, However, when the rest of the folks saw things going belly-up and how much laughter was going on by those dancing, then the bug simply spread. Everybody wanted a go, and the one thing I remember about the dancing was purely and simply the amount of constant laughter and fun that everybody taking part was having. -It was certainly a master-stroke by Ann to have an Irish ceili, as it didn't isolate people the same way a disco would have done, and our thanks have to go to you and the band for a truly superb evening of dance and fun. At the end of the day we would have to say that the entire evening was brilliant. Ann & Adrian returned from honeymoon in Barbados on 20th December and they were still, even then, talking about how much fun they had and how good the music was on the night (even after just coming back from having 2 weeks of Bob Marley!). I have received lots of compliments about how good you were and how friendly you all were. Being a busy bride, phone calls, texts and emails were a great way to keep in contact with Marion and agree the plan for the night. This gave us such reassurance as we knew how the night was going to go and could plan e...”“Being a bride who had planned everything in detail, that also meant giving a lot of thought to the music! The Fabulations were really accommodating all the way through the process. Being a busy bride, phone calls, texts and emails were a great way to keep in contact with Marion and agree the plan for the night. This gave us such reassurance as we knew how the night was going to go and could plan everything in advance with them. We wanted to play our own CD's during the bands break and they advised how we could best do this. On the night there were a few technical difficulties with our own CD's and they also helped solve this, when they didn't need to as they had plenty of back up tunes with them! Our wedding was on New Year's Eve and at midnight the band let off giant party poppers for us across the dance floor, they did a great new year count down and added in extra personal parts for us that we wanted. Whether we told them 4 weeks or 4 minutes in advance, they were willing to make it as fun and personal as possible for us. They really went the extra mile for us and we are really grateful. Alive Network was really profressional but always felt accessible and friendly. There are a great range of bands available and I found them very helpful on advising. We already had high expectations having listened to the various medleys - not only did you meet them, but you exceeded our expectations by miles. From the second we met you that evening you completely wowed us with your warmth, energy and sheer professionalism. Vocally and instrumentally you were all stunning, and the way you kept the dance floor full and the guests wanting more was a joy to be part of. So many of the guests have commented on your brilliance. Comments such as "the best band I've ever seen" and "they were better than some of the original artists" sum up what everyone thought of you all - us included. The only downside was that it was all over too soon. Myself and Claire look back at our wedding day as the most perfect day imaginable, and would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the part you played in helping make it so.
