Remember, Remember! An amazing fireworks night proposal story...

Shine On were booked to perform at the Lambeth Fireworks at Brockwell Park. Soon after the show, they received an email from an elated audience member, who's partner proposed to her during their set!

The Lambeth Fireworks was to be one of the best nights of the 2017 gig calendar for Sussex party band, Shine On, as they played for a crowd of over 16,000 on Saturday 4th November 2017.

But it was also to be THE best day of the year for a certain couple in the audience, Rebecca & David!

Shine On received this message from Rebecca via email the following day....

Dear Shine On,

I am writing for two reasons.....

The first reason is because I want to shout to literally everyone in the world from the rooftops that David proposed to me and I said yes! (David and I are unknown to you).

The second is to let you know, that in large part, the proposal was because of you!

At 6pm on Saturday night whilst discussing the pros and cons of leaving a cosy, yet replicable netflix evening, neither my boyfriend David nor I expected that our night would be transformed by your band at Brockwell Park Fireworks.

The awesomeness of your playlist, quality of sound and performance is evidenced by the fact that David (having been thinking of planning a proposal anyway) seized the moment and asked me to be his wife. He knew, (and he was right!) that there would literally be no better time ever, than to ask after the epic fireworks, and during the fun you were creating. Panicking slightly because you were about to finish your set, he rightly avoided the less than romantic 'Sex on Fire', the popular Ed Sheeran, and went for the much cooler 'Don't look back in anger' from Oasis.

I cannot thank you enough, it was so special, perfect. Your tunes put us in the best mood and we have never danced together so much ever before and after he popped the question!

We would very much like you to play at our own wedding (you have birthed us in some small otherwordly way) and I very much hope we can be in touch soon to confirm a date.

Just thought you'd all like to know :)

Thanks, Rebecca

Shine On also posted on their social media the following day:

"Remember, remember the 4th of November?.. We certainly will. THANK YOU to Lambeth Fireworks and to everyone who came and partied with us last night. Thank you for making it one of the best gigs we’ve ever done. Amazing to see 16,000 of you turn up for the epic movie-themed fireworks!"

A fantastic story that Rebecca and David (& the band) will remember forever!
