Have you got what it takes?

Alive Network, the UK's leading provider of live entertainment for private events, are holding auditions for new artists at a venue in Staffordshire, West Midlands.

As well as securing a place on the premier entertainment agency in the UK, the top acts from each audition session will receive an unprecedented fast-track development deal including an advance to cover recording studio time, video production, photo-shoots, web design, marketing and much more.

More information

Alive Network has spent the last 15 years building a reputation as the UK's leading provider of live entertainment for private events. We book function bands for more than 7500 events each year including events for world renowned companies such as Nike, Google, EMI Abbey Road, Red Bull, The Princes' Trust, Bentley and Pinewood Studios amongst many others.

2015 sees huge increase in customer demand but a worrying shortage of new talent coming up through the ranks. To remedy the problem we're holding regular auditions to find the next generation of talented young bands who have what it takes to make it amongst the UK’s function elite.

“We’re looking for a particular type of band who can demonstrate a high level of musical authenticity in their performance”

says Artist Liaison Manager Laura Ellement.

“Anyone with a reasonable degree of talent can put a cover band together and play a few gigs, but we're looking for the top 1% of musicians who can take their performance to a whole new level, both in terms of musical personality and showmanship. We expect our clients, their guests and their friends to leave an event feeling like they’ve just been part of something a bit special; better even than anything they would experience watching a world renowned touring band.”

Alive is going to really get behind the cream of the crop, giving unprecedented fast-track development deals to the top acts including an advance to cover recording studio time, photo-shoots, video production, marketing, web design and more.

Each band will be assigned a personal agent who will manage their diary, as well as a development manager who will look after their promotion and marketing.

This is a unique opportunity for talented young musicians to get a head start in the industry and earn a good living under the stewardship of the most successful entertainment agency in the country.

Our bestselling cover bands can earn well over £100,000 a year after agency commissions, and when you consider that most events take place Friday through Sunday, that leaves a lot of spare time for writing/teaching or pursuing other employment!

“Right now we’re giving development deals to, and fast-tracking applications from 3-5 piece rock and pop bands who can perform contemporary and classic rock music from acts like The Killers and the Arctic Monkeys through to The Beatles and The Stones”

says Rich Hearn, Artist Development Manager.

"This type of function band has huge client demand and that dictates our current recruitment priority. That said, we’re always looking out for talented new acts from all musical styles, so you should still feel free to apply even if you don’t match these criteria."

Even if your heart lies with writing and performing your own music, the opportunity to work as a professional function band is an opportunity that should not be dismissed on 'artistic' grounds.

“A lot of young musicians turn their noses up at the idea of playing in a covers band, but many great bands, The Beatles and the Stones included, started out that way. It’s a real waste to miss out on the opportunity to play live music for a living and get real world experience simply because you feel it’s beneath your artistic integrity.”

says Managing Director Dave Bevan

“Being able to move and inspire people through  a meaningful musical performance is a skill that’s important and relevant to all musicians. If you’re offered an opportunity to fund your original music by playing live music rather than ‘working for the man’, why on earth would the latter help your career more? We treat all our function artists with the same respect we show our world renowned original acts, and we’d encourage any young aspiring songwriters, bands and musicians to come forwards and talk to us about setting up a function band. It might just provide the break they're looking for.”
