A fantastic band that really lift the spirit

“The band created a superb atmosphere on a very wet and miserable day. They lifted the guests to the point where every guest was dancing to their last two songs at 10.45pm. The caller was excellent and very patient which helped most of the guests grasp the fundamental moves. They received rapturous applause at the end of the evening. Much deserved.”

“Thank you so much for performing at our wedding reception! Everyone had such a fun time, and it was so special to be able to teach the Portuguese about Ceilidh dancing; so many have said how much they loved it. We are incredibly grateful for how well you all coped with the mix of languages and English comprehension you gave us the time needed to translate the instructions and try them out without detracting from overall dancing time. I was also very impressed with your flexibility with the set, pushing back your break by a song when you saw everyone was ready for one more dance, thank you. Overall, everyone had great fun and it was a brilliant way to round off the wedding day. Thank you to you all!”

“We had such a fun time, and it was so special to be able to teach non-UK friends and family about Ceilidh dancing; so many have said how much they loved it. We are incredibly grateful for how well the band coped with the mix of languages and English comprehension they gave us the time needed to translate the instructions and try them out without detracting from overall dancing time. We were also very impressed with their flexibility with the set, pushing back a break by a song when everyone was ready for one more dance for example. “We booked rakish paddy for our wedding fairly last minute. We decided we wanted to have a ceilidh band quite late and there were not too many available, so we picked these guys. No regrets, I think we were very lucky to get such a good group! Ruth got in touch early and talked to us a few times in the run up to sort out all the details and check what we wanted. On the big day they turned up in good time and were quick to say up. The caller did an excellent job with a mix of very poor dancers, many of whom didn't speak English! This was the perfect thing for us and would thoroughly recommend them!”

“I booked Rakish Paddy as my wedding band and they were great! From the beginning they were so helpful and friendly, adding in more country songs (as I knew our audience would love it!), learning a new song for our first dance and ensuring they did reels for my auntie to showcase the ‘brush dance’ ! On the night the dance floor was packed, and my guests exclaimed that they felt just as if they were in an Irish pub! Great music, lovely people, highly recommended! Thanks again Ruth, we loved every minute!”

“Ruth and Rakish Paddy are brilliant. If you’re looking for some fun and upbeat Irish Music then look no further. They performed a fantastic set for us on the beach and it was everything and more that we had imagined. Despite playing early on in the wedding day within no time people were up and dancing and having a brilliant time. Booking and communication was super easy and Ruth was more than happy to have a call with us the week before which was a lovely introduction. Hope to see you play again soon.”

“Thank you so much for playing at our wedding celebration on Saturday evening. Our guests loved it and we had a great time. The band really were perfect for our event and got quite a few of the known non-dancers on their feet. “Rakish Paddy were brilliant at our event. Communication beforehand was excellent. They were very accommodating as we were running late! The music was great and all our guests thoroughly enjoyed it. They even got some of the “non dancers” dancing! Would highly recommend and would definitely book again!!””
