Inspired by Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Amy Winehouse and Lauryn Hill, their repertoire moves effortlessly between eras and cultures, with songs performed in English, Portuguese, Spanish and Italian. Perfect for luxury weddings, drinks receptions, dinners, corporate events and private celebrations, the band bring a sophisticated international feel to any occasion. Jo has over 15 years’ professional experience and trained at London’s prestigious Guildhall School of Music & Drama.

The Golden Sessions – Jazz, Soul & Latin Music With International Style
Led by jazz and soul vocalist Jo, The Golden Sessions are a London-based collective performing a stylish mix of classic jazz, Bossa Nova, Latin music, Italian swing, soul and contemporary favourites.
Think Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan alongside the warmth of Brazilian Bossa Nova, romantic Latin boleros and Italian swing – with more contemporary influences including Amy Winehouse, Alicia Keys and Lauryn Hill.
It’s an elegant, cosmopolitan sound that works beautifully for weddings, drinks receptions, dinners, corporate events, luxury hotels and private celebrations.
The Music
The Golden Sessions' repertoire moves easily between different eras and musical cultures, with songs performed in English, Portuguese, Spanish and Italian.
Their sets include:
- Jazz & Great American Songbook – timeless standards inspired by Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan and Dinah Washington
- Bossa Nova & Brazilian music – relaxed Latin rhythms that are particularly well suited to drinks receptions and dinner
- Latin boleros – romantic Spanish-language songs with plenty of warmth and character
- Italian swing – adding a distinctly European flavour to the repertoire
- Soul – drawing on Jo's influences including Donny Hathaway
- Contemporary classics – songs associated with artists including Amy Winehouse, Alicia Keys and Lauryn Hill, reworked to sit naturally alongside the band's jazz repertoire
Rather than simply playing familiar songs note-for-note, the musicians use original arrangements to give contemporary material a jazz, soul or Latin character while retaining the melodies guests know.
Originally from Italy, Jo has more than 15 years of professional performance experience.
She studied jazz and contemporary music at conservatoires in Italy and Spain before completing postgraduate studies at London's Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
That international background comes through strongly in The Golden Sessions. Moving between several languages and musical styles gives the band a broader repertoire than a traditional jazz quartet, particularly for clients looking for music with an Italian, Latin or international feel.
