The City Sound are a Swing, Jump Jive and Pop band that has been wowing audiences every week for over 10 years.
Fronted by singer/pianist Jeremy James, the band is perfect for weddings and corporate events and as well as being the first choice band for many wedding couples. The City Sound has been also chosen by high end clients like the Americas Cup Sailing Regatta, UEFA Champions League Final, Ralph Lauren, Hugo Boss, Manchester United, Visit Britain, NW Regional Tourism Awards, Kodak, KPMG and Shell UK.
The band hold a unique setlist which will take you and your guests on a musical 'journey through time', starting with the Jazz & Swing era of the 1930’s and 40’s, passing through the Jump-Jive of the 1950's, and ending with a dancefloor-filling selection of pop & soul favourites from the 60's, 70's & beyond." Think Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Ray Charles, Lionel Richie, Tom Jones, Stevie Wonder and Barry White plus many more.

“I can not thank Jeremy and the guys from City Sound enough for making my 60th Birthday party amazing! Right from my first discussions with Jeremy, I knew we would have a fabulous night. Jeremy took time to listen to the 'vibe' we wanted and then created this with his musicians. The quality of the music was superb and I would recommend them without hesitation. Jeremy and the band were also so friendly and fun which added to our experience.”

“From start to finish Jeremy and the City Sound were incredible!!! from my (now) husband(!) arranging the initial plans, to our chat ahead of the wedding to the amazing professionalism on the day from Jeremy and all the musicians we couldn't have asked for anything better. The sax and bass duo during the drinks reception was so wonderful and really brought an extra special feeling to the day! Then for the evening, they appeared as if by magic set up and ready to go and had everyone on the dancefloor from start to finish. It was so wonderful to see our guests of all ages and music tastes up and dancing on the dancefloor, especially the ones that claim they don't dance!! I honestly do not have enough words to explain how marvellous they were to have as part of our wedding and the feedback from our guests both with their dancing and their comments afterwards showed us what we already knew, how fantastic they were. They have also added to their fanbase as I know some of our gue...”

From the start, Jeremy was so helpful asking what type of music and vibe we were going for and whether or not they are right band for us - without a doubt they were! Jeremy even moved his holiday plans to accommodate our wedding date! We first watched Jeremy play in London and were sold given they great atmosphere and time we (and the entire restaurant) had!! On the day, the Jazz prescription band were so professional, easy going and we had nothing to worry about. We loved the sax and bass duo in the drinks reception, adding a bit of class to the day and Jeremy even had everyone up and singing along during the wedding breakfast! Needless to say the dance floor was filled all evening with the whole band playing a mix of jazz/ swing and modern pop covers. Would recommend to everyone and anyone! All our best, Sophia and Martyn”

“So fantastic! The band were so good for the end of our wedding. Really great musicians and certainly got me up and dancing for the whole night they were playing. They were also extremely accommodating given that the schedule had fallen about an hour behind, due to no fault of our own, and even though the venue had been given order details for dinner that had not been passed onto staff. Given that Jeremy had to drive back to Manchester from Oxford, I think he displayed a reserve of patience and magnanimity I may have not been able to! I would highly recommend this band, they play a great selection of dancing tunes, are clearly passionate and are extremely professional and friendly. Also, all good communication with Jeremy before hard, putting me at ease when you're running a tight schedule.”
