Full Biography
Based in Edinburgh and Glasgow, The Central Street Band is made up of Scotlands Finest Jazz and Brass Players who regularly work nationally and internationally with groups including the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra, Nicole Scherzinger, Nick Heyward, The Fratellis, European Jazz Orchestra, Royal Opera House London, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Scottish Ballet and touring shows nationally and in the the West End.
The band bring a unique and vibrant atmosphere to any event be that subtle or huge! they play anything from traditional New Orleans material and jazz classics through to funky brass band and pop covers in the modern New Orleans Brass band style following in the footsteps of other bands such as Rebirth, The Hot 8 and Youngblood.
In terms of what they can provide they can it that to suit your day with a very flexible range of options.
These include
- leading a parade
- playing in a ceremony
- leading a from a ceremony to a reception
- playing mobile in a party
- playing stage sets
- playing totally acoustic, partially acoustic or fully micd up
The Central Street Band can change thier group size or set times to suit your event offering anything from 2 musicians (a short flourish for an arrival or opening) to a full 8 Piece band for a crackling full blown party atmosphere.
As a band they have already played at some of Scotlands most prestigious and bespoke theydding venues including Prestonfield House, Carlowrie Castle, The Free Company, The Hawksmoor, Falside Mill, Cherrytrees Kelso, Merchiston Castle School, Schivas Steading, The Engine Works and Rossie on the Earn.
Having also played and are booked to play public gigs at venues and Festivals such as the Tall Ships Festival Shetland 2023 (Main Stage), Jazz Bar Edinburgh, Edinburgh Festival, Radisson Blu Glasgow and The Pianodrome.
