“What a night. The band played for a few hours at my wedding. The guests hardly sat down and we almost had to call an ambulance for one of them! Lots of English guests who had never been to a ceilidh before and they loved every second. My best man wiped out the fiddler by accident during “strip the willow” sorry about that! Thanks lads. It was brilliant.”

The drums add so much energy and the whole band was very personable and interacted with our guests which made the overall experience even more fun. Full Biography
The Blazing Ceilidh are passionate about Scottish music. They play it, write it, teach it and perform it.
Together they have 30 years combined experience in the Scottish music industry. They play at festivals, weddings, concerts and events across Scotland, the UK and Europe. They’re the founders of The Edinburgh Street Ceilidh.
Their highlights are – playing at the festival ‘Mestralia’ in Catalonia twice, playing a festival tour of North East France including Paris, composing and performing a WW1 remembrance tune for HRH Princess Anne. Playing at the BBC Hogmanay Live with Phil Cunningham and Aly Bain. Featuring on the BBC’s ‘Bargain Hunt’. Playing at weddings accross the UK and in Europe. Playing at hundreds of venues across the UK from grand concert halls to small town halls. From playing with the Scottish Fiddle Orchestra to playing at weddings across the country. From teaching and inspiring the next generation of Scottish musicians to founding The Edinburgh Street Ceilidh. From winning national traditional music competitions to playing for Irish dancers. From playing the critically acclaimed Wilfred Owen violin to leading local traditional music sessions. From writing their own sets of music to playing concerts in aid of and in recognition of humanitarian causes.
