Latin & Salsa Duo Profile;
In demand at home and abroad with a growing reputation for serving up quality vibrant music at all kinds of events, Mamba Rumba bring with them upbeat rhythms from Cuba and all around Latin America, the Caribbean and Brazil. They also bring plenty of instruments – guitar, sax, clarinet, flute, banjo, tres (Cuban guitar), cavaquinho (Brazilian samba ukulele), percussion and two voices - combining all this to create a joyously rootsy sound of their own.
Over the last few years they’ve performed in ten European countries. UK festival appearances have taken them from Shetland to Jersey with many more shows in between.
Jazz Duo Profile;
Two excellent musicians and singers, Mamba Rumba create a spirited and entertaining Jazz sound right across the spectrum from the hot & swingin’ stuff to the mellow and laid-back end of the scale. Pete & Frankie also spice up their jazzy mix with tasty Latino rhythms & styles such as mambo, calypso, chacha, bossa nova and rumba.
Alongside their classic duo sound of guitar, sax and vocals, these two versatile players keep the sound fresh & spontaneous by adding clarinet, flute, banjo, Latin American instruments and percussion, bringing something new and unique to complement their treatment of the classic jazz standards and sounds - the influences of greats such as Ellington, Getz, Jobim, Django Reinhardt and Cole Porter can be heard alongside the Buena Vista Social Club, Perez Prado, Compay Segundo and others.
Particularly popular at weddings (either as a reception/background slot to set a great mood, or later for dancing - see the videos!- and at parties because they're so versatile, lively and accessible across age ranges and tastes with a wide repertoire. They also have plenty of experience of playing corporate events as well.
A glance through their customer reviews will make it clear just how highly recommended they are.
