Stylish, versatile singer Loretta brings talent and class to her performances of jazz standards and classic songs with live guitar accompaniment.

Loretta sings jazz standards with sophistication, creativity and elegance. After graduating from the prestigious Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts with a first class degree in music, she has gone on to release two original albums and tour the length and breadth of the UK supporting artists such as Grammy Award winners 'The Blind Boys of Alabama'. As well as enjoying two local residencies and an increasing number of invites to perform at public and private events, Loretta has also had the priveledge of performing at venues such as Hammersmith Apollo and the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.

Her involvement in traditional jazz has been a more recent and exciting side step. Joining a local quartet as a featured singer, sparked a love affair with the works of master songwriters of the twentieth century such as George Gershwin, Cole Porter and Irving Berlin and a deep love for the voices of Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday. Her vocal delivery finds inspiration in the breathless musicality of Fitzgerald and the haunting soulfulness of Holiday.

Working with some of the most well respected jazz musicians in the North West, who bring a deep knowledge of the genre, scintillating improvisation and intelligent sensitivity to the performance, Loretta Bird is available to book as a Duo, Trio or Quartet (please see booking options).
