JG Piano trained at the Birmingham Conservatoire to achieve a distinction at grade 8 in 1992. As a professional musical director, choir director and performer since 1997 Joe can tailor his performance to suit the atmosphere of any wedding ceremony, evening reception, private party or corporate dinner.
Covering every style and genre from classical and jazz right through to modern pop tunes, Joe is the perfect 'cocktail lounge' piano player and improviser. Joe is well versed in all the popular standards and requests are welcomed.
Joe gives a sensitive performance to suit all requirements and with his friendly and professional attitude this pianist will make all of your guests feel welcome and relaxed.
Joe is available as a duo with the highly-experienced and talented jazz vocalist Colette.
Colette’s professional career began with the world arena tour of Riverdance as a part of the Riverdance Singers, where she became the featured soloist singer within a year. She spent 2 years touring internationally across Europe and the Far East; and took part in the 5 year ‘homecoming’ to Dublin’s Point Theatre. She was then asked by Irish dance show rival, Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance, to become their only singer. Since then she has sung in numerous settings and for many high-profile occasions. Colette has been invited by Shrewsbury Choral Society, Worcester Male Voice Choir, and the Westbury Singers to sing the soprano solos in various large scale works. And has also appeared as a featured soloist in many other concerts, for example an evening celebrating St Cecilia’s Day, a showcase of local talent in Worcester, a Proms concert and a concert arranged by The Rotary Club, Bristol. She has recorded with both folk and rock bands and is able to turn her hand to any style of music. During her time living in Australia from 2011-2014, Colette has also toured with the Irish dance show Rhythms of Ireland and with the Irish dance/illusion show Celtic Illusion. These shows have seen her tour through New South Wales, Queensland and Northern Territories. She also appeared as a part of vocal group, Angel Voices. Once again being in demand as an ensemble performer and soloist singer.
Joe and Colette, together with mat on sax, james on drums and mark on double bass make up the sizzling jazz quintet The Jazz Magnets (see booking options)
Joe is also available as a duo with a talented professional violinist such as Antonia Finch, Heidi Nixon or Julie McRae. All of whom are highly experienced and classically trained but are equally at home with modern repertoire - see lists below.
