Full Biography
Dave Bryon was born and raised in London and Lancashire. He studied Geology at Liverpool University, where he also completed a doctorate in Earth Sciences. In 1996, he moved to Myrtle Beach, USA, to join Coastal Carolina University.
Returning to the UK in 2000, Dave took a position with British Midland Airways (BMI) and played a key role in establishing the low-cost carrier BMIbaby, which launched in 2002. Serving as both Commercial Director and Managing Director, he helped the airline expand to 21 aircraft operating from five UK airports, carrying over 4.5 million passengers annually. The BMI Group was sold to the AIG Group (British Airways) in 2012.
Now, Dave enjoys a successful media career that includes after-dinner comedy routines focused on flying, business keynote presentations, and roles as an awards evening host and MC for charity events and auctions. His business presentations highlight his "8 C’s of running an airline," principles he believes are applicable to all businesses and organisations: Compliance, Competition, Cash Flow, Cost Control, Challenge, Change, Communication, and Customer Service.
Dave has performed across Europe and the Middle East, including in Moscow, Dubai, Kuwait, and Hull. He has worked with notable clients such as Accenture, Barclays Bank, BP, Sun Microsystems, The FA, Leicester Tigers, Chevron, Deutsche Bank, RNLI, Airbus, and Burton Albion, a team he avidly supports.
