Adelaide Quartet are a young, professional string quartet of siblings based in London and the South East, who have all studied at The Royal College of Music in London. They provide music for weddings, celebrations and corporate events, drawing on an extensive and wide-ranging repertoire, which can be tailored to suit any occasion.

Because they have played together since childhood, they have developed a particularly warm and well-blended sound, and have many years of live performing experience together throughout the UK, Europe and Australia.

They have won numerous awards in London and Kent, and have taken part in masterclasses under Yonty Solomon, Nigel Clayton, Moray Walsh and Yossi Zivoni. In the summer of 2001 they appeared on the Meridian television series Music in Mansions.

At weddings they can offer music for the ceremony itself, and background music for the drinks reception and throughout the day. They can also provide different combinations of instruments, such as violin and cello duo, or string trio. They are also happy to adapt their programme to include special requests if notified in advance.

When we started organising the day the first thing we both wanted was a string quartet for the church. I listened to you running through the songs before everyone arrived and it sounded beautiful. Nicola walked down the aisle and it was exactly what we wanted. Absolutely perfect... Thank you for making our day start with a touch of class.
Tony - wedding in Crayford, London

In the afternoon we welcomed Adelaide Quartet. Their playing of Schumann’s Piano Quartet, Op 47 displayed a rich, lush romantic colour, imbued with delicate articulation and phrasing. They are a delightfully balanced ensemble - four artists of equal calibre, with a seemingly telepathic understanding of each other - and their playing reflected an intimate knowledge and understanding of the music. In Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante, K364, the opening Andante was a duet for violin and viola. The melodic themes and answering phrases simply overflowed with emotion and depth, which was then skilfully balanced with a sparkling performance of the final Presto. We were privileged to hear a group of such exceptional technical ability. The Quartet’s tonal intensity and shimmering textures were an absolute joy.

I just wanted to write a very quick thank you for playing at our wedding. I really can’t thank you enough for your fantastic performance - everyone thought it was beautiful and they all commented on how lovely your playing was. It was a perfect choice of music throughout the day. Even Eniko had to admit she was blown away when she first heard you as she came around the corner. I was nearly brought to tears myself when you struck up your first chords. You were all amazing. Once again thank you for making our very special day just that little bit more special.
Julian and Eniko – wedding in Oxfordshire

“The Adelaide Quartet were such a great addition to our day. They learned and arranged a piece of music for us at our request with no hesitation allowing us to have the entrance music that we wanted which really made our ceremony special. We had so many compliments from our guests about how incredible they were and I would definitely recommend them and book them again! A HUGE thank you!!”
