The style and format of the Totally Spontaneous Singing Waiters does not derive from the close harmony tradition of the barbershop quartet. They are an a cappella quartet who sing beautiful harmonies but that is where the similarities end...
The are instead highly trained classical performers each successful soloists in their own right with an added talent of being able to sing harmoniously as a team and blend weaving in and out of lush operatic and musical theatre melodies supporting each voice with vocal harmonies. They have teamed up with a very clever musical arranger who has taken the best bits of the operatic favorites and musical theatre hits that we all love and melded into a striking and unique performance which is totally fresh extremely clever and totally spontaneous! It is unrestrained virtuoso singing combined with pure fun and entertainment.
Our 'waiters' typically begin by quietly blending with your regular waitstaff charming guests and becoming increasingly obvious at being completely useless waiters. They then proceed to create an entertaining scene in the middle of the room typically just after the main course has been served which culminates with the performers breaking out into song. The singers give a 20 minute performance give a bow and depart. If you would like to have a bit more our performers are then happy to do a costume change reappearing usually during desserts in formal dress to sing a second set. Totally Spontaneous usually perform for one or two 20 minute sets as part of the act but are happy to sing for a shorter performance if that is your preference although the rate does not go down for a shorter performance.

The Totally Spontaneous Singing Waiters have a fantastic unique repertoire of popular opera and musical theatre hits as well as some modern arrangements and are happy to design the programme with or for you based on your requests and preferences.
The Totally Spontaneous Singing Waiters a cappella act requires four voices (soprano mezzo tenor and bass). Unlike other acts this one is not tied to recorded or piano accompaniment and is therefore extremely flexible about where to perform and can easily conform to any event regardless of the physical and technical limitations of the venue.
This dynamic act will adapt easily to a small intimate gathering of anywhere from 2 to 90 guests without any technical requirements at all or a larger event with full audio tech.
Our singers subtly infiltrate your event blending with your real waiting staff and provide sophisticated, high quality entertainment, but also adding a great element of fun which can be gauged and catered specifically to your event. The structure and content of our performance suits a wide spectrum of audience taste by taking away the seriousness often associated with opera and adding an element of fun, spontaneity and surprise. The act has proven equally successful to audiences from all walks of life, be they opera lovers or not, be it a dinner party of ten guests or a ballroom of a thousand, the structure of our singing waiters show along with the vast repertoire and experience of each of the performers allows our act to be easily customized to suit your unique request.

"Just to say that the Singing Waiters were perfect last night. Everyone was taken by surprise and loved it. Our Chief Exec was particularly touched and asked me to pass on his grateful thanks. In usual circumstances he would say something but I think he was rather overcome. So please say that we thought they were wonderful. I don't know if you kept the lyrics to A Few of My Favourite Things, but he would love to have a copy. Many thanks for all your help with this. I shall certainly recommend you to anyone else who is looking for entertainers - it all went so smoothly.
