Magical performance of music, singing and dancing

On 31st January 2019, we were fortunate to have the Daniel Martinez Flamenco Company delight us with their magical performance of music, singing and dancing at our school, TASIS-England. Their visit started with an engaging workshop, guided by one of the dancers who taught our students “taconeo” the basic step and rhythm of flamenco. Our students were delighted to experience this first hand and enthusiastically took part in all movements of the choreography being taught. The show that followed the workshop captivated the audience with its spectacular performance. Beginning with the able fingers of the director and first guitarist Daniel Martínez in the Spanish guitar, followed by the enchanting voices of the “cantaores” and crowned by the enrapturing dancing of “bailaora” Gabriela Pouso, the show brought the house down. Inside our school burned with flamenco fire despite the snow storm taking place outside. It was a party atmosphere that sent some our students to join the dancers on the stage. We didn’t want it to end. The Daniel Martínez Flamenco Company enthralled us with their bewitching performance of flamenco making this a genuine and authentic experience for all to remember and to crave for more.
