booked Groove Deluxe for their event

At the end of June Groove Deluxe came out to Cairo to play the Queen’s Birthday Ball, the major annual event in the Cairo expatriate’s calendar, held in the gardens of the British Ambassador, HE Sir Derek Plumbly, to raise money for local charities. I heard them on the morning of the event doing their sound check and it was immediately apparent that l had chosen well. A truly vibrant sound from six very professional musicians making music that caused the hairs on the back of my neck to stand up. At the event they did two sets and the crowd loved them. The floor was always overcrowded with people spilling onto the grass and although it was supposed to finish at 2:30am they carried on until 3:00. They would have gone on longer l am sure, but the neighbours may have complained had that happened. There was a local band also appearing and there were a few numbers where the two bands played together; it is so good to see that sort of thing! Even now, three weeks after the event, people are still talking about how excellent Groove Deluxe were. To sum up, Groove Deluxe are a band that play great 70s music and know how to get the people on the dance floor and keep them there. They are great musicians and lovely people to be with, aside of the music. I have no hesitation in recommending them to anybody looking for a truly memorable night. I have asked them to come back next year which is surely testimony in itself. The very best of luck to Groove Deluxe for the future.
