Why book an acoustic wedding band?
Acoustic bands are particularly popular for wedding ceremonies and drinks receptions where it helps for the musicians to be mobile. They can perform as guests arrive, accompany your walk down the aisle, play during the signing of the register or provide a relaxed soundtrack while photographs are taken. Many bands also provide upbeat evening sets for dancing, swapping the cajón for a full drum kit.
They are equally well suited to corporate receptions, private parties, festivals and street events - where their compact equipment and adaptable volume make them a practical option for smaller spaces, outdoor settings and venues with sound restrictions. Roaming bands can even move between tables or groups of guests, creating a lively and interactive performance without requiring a fixed stage.
What type of acoustic musicians are right for your event?
From acoustic love songs and relaxed background music to indie singalongs, country favourites and upbeat party classics, there's an acoustic style to suit every celebration.
Acoustic Singers & Duos
Best for ceremonies & intimate celebrations.
Solo singers and duos are perfect for wedding ceremonies, drinks receptions and intimate celebrations, creating a relaxed atmosphere with beautifully stripped-back arrangements. Featuring acoustic guitar and rich close harmony vocals, you can expect beautifully reimagined love songs by artists like Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Adele, and The Beatles. Expect to pay around £450 for a singer and £700-£900 for a duo.
Roaming Acoustic Bands
Best for drinks receptions & guest interaction.
Performing unplugged as they move amongst your guests, they bring the music directly to the heart of your event. Their close vocal harmonies and feel-good repertoire make them a popular choice for drinks receptions and networking events where energy and guest interaction are key. Their sets often feature upbeat versions of classic pop hits, encouraging guests to sing along wherever the band performs. Typical prices range from £1000 - £1800
Modern Acoustic Folk & Festival Bands
Best for rustic weddings & outdoor celebrations.
Inspired by artists such as Mumford & Sons, The Lumineers, and Fleetwood Mac, and often combining acoustic guitars, percussion, banjo, mandolin, fiddle and close harmony vocals, these bands perform uplifting folk-pop, indie favourites and festival anthems that are perfect for tipi weddings, barn venues and outdoor celebrations. Average costs are around £1750 for a four piece band.
Acoustic pop bands
Best for all-day weddings & evening parties.
These bands perform stripped-back arrangements of chart hits, indie anthems and classic singalong songs. Without the big rock guitars of a regular function band, they’re an option well suited to venues with sound limiters. They’re also versatile performers, able to move from background music during the day to upbeat evening entertainment. Prices run from £1200 - £2500.
Booking Tips
Based on 12,500 bookings for our acoustic artists, we see that singers and duos tend to get booked around 4-5 months before the event, and for acoustic bands the average is 6-7 months in advance. Peak dates are Saturdays between June and September, so booking around 9 months before will give you the best choice of artists.
The most popular booking format is for two sixty minute sets. Where amplification is required, 99% of artists will provide their own equipment and PA system. Many acts also offer flexible booking packages, performing at several points throughout your day, for example your ceremony, drinks reception and wedding breakfast. Many also offer flexible line-ups, with the ability to add members to suit your venue and budget, as well as bespoke song arrangements, full band upgrades and a manned DJ service.
