“We couldn't be more pleased with our choice of the Northern Star as the band for our wedding on the 22nd July 2023 in Northumberland (a Swedish-English fusion wedding)!!! - The band was so professional, warm, calm and seamlessly blending in during communications, preparations leading up to our event and setting up before we arrived at the venue and packing up at the end. Never any gaps or awkward moments and really crisp sound throughout. - Their 2x30min (generous 30min) acoustic duo set was the perfect choice to set the atmosphere for the night during arrival mingles and canapés. - They are such comfortable and amazingly skilled musicians rocking instruments like banjo, mandolin, double bass, drums, violin, guitar, flute etc. (we added banjo and violin to the trio to have a five piece band, which is impossible to evaluate if necessary, but they were great together) and could therefore follow the flow of the dance floor rocking a Cotton Eye Joe longer as the whole wedding party was in barn dance mode at the time and playing really slick medleys coming in and out of songs to make the crowd roar. - They filled the gaps before, between and after sets with perfectly fitting DJ music and listened to every single request of even Swedish songs that we knew would get the crowd hopping in surprise without flinching. - We got so many guests coming up during the night and in the days after saying how amazing they were and asking where we had found them and that they would be great for any event. We loved them! (NB! - We have no affiliations to the band or agency and the price is like for all wedding bands quite substantial, but we haven't regretted one second going with these real pros!)”

“The band were excellent. Easy to communicate with and create a set list which had something for everyone. We had people on the dance floor all night. They also played our first dance and allowed a friend to play with them on the keys for it. Also small things like allowing us to use a microphone for our speeches too. They were the perfect entertainment for our wedding. Thank you so much.”

“Despite some last minute challenges the band delivered a fantastic performance throughout the night and really put the perfect topping on our special day. They were fun and provided a friendly atmosphere, chilled when needed then upped the music with perfect timing. I know it was a long weekend for them travelling to our venue and they were able to perform right after what must have been a tough journey!”

“Northern Star played at our wedding and were absolutely phenomenal. Everyone was up and dancing from start to finish, and didn’t want them to stop. They looked super cool and sounded amazing. The band were so easy to deal with and came up with an epic playlist, including some great suggestions for our first dance. They were super flexible when the wedding breakfast overran and calmly adjusted their set to fit the time available. We would definitely recommend then if you want to party! Thank you so much”

“We booked Northern Star for our DIY barn wedding in Cornwall in September - and wow, they absolutely made the evening reception!! We hadn't seen them live before booking, and were blown away by how professional and brilliant they were. They got the whole wedding party dancing all night. They even played our first dance song, in the exact style we had asked for - it was a dream! We added a fiddle player when booking, and they blended in seamlessly (especially considering he was a last minute stand in)! We honestly couldn't be happier with them, and cannot recommend them highly enough. One of our guests is already looking to book them for her wedding next year.
