Full Biography

Weekend Retro Team will come to your event as a four or five piece band. Rob will definitely be there. He is a mimic and loves recreating the vocals of classic tracks. As he is Canadian-English, he can move smoothly from the southern drawl of Sweet Home Alabama to the exaggerated Cockney of Park Life or the nasal Manc drawl of Oasis. Similarly, with his Martin acoustic, Fender Strat, Gretsch and effects pedals, he will recreate the guitar sound of the tunes you love. Our rhythm section usually consists of Rich on drums and Alex on bass. Both have been in bands since their teenage years and together they lock in to create a wall of sound that hits you straight in the chest. They also provide backing vocals which lift the choruses into massive, soaring anthems. Roel is the band’s Jamaican-born trump card. He is a professional musician who takes the summer off to tour the world with various Caribbean acts. For us he usually plays guitar and keys but he can also play drums and is actually a bass player! So he might sub in on bass or drums when needed. Finally there’s Anu who sprinkles stardust across our performances with her amazing vocals. As a mum of four and with a husband in show biz, she can’t always be there but when she sings time stands still and her voice commands the entire room.

We have plenty of experience and have been booked by pubs and clubs and for parties and weddings.

If you want to book us we’ll ask you to select the songs you’d like us to play and Rob will be in touch to ensure we provide the experience you want.

We bring all our own equipment including a professional audio sound system (2000W) , amplifiers and lighting. All equipment has been PAT tested for safety and the band carries £1m public liability insurance as standard. We can  play  background music before, between and after our sets resulting in a seamless experience.
