Full Biography

"We would like to say a massive thank you to the Red Letters for a great performance on our big day. You had everyone up on their feet dancing and smiling with your great set list. If you're thinking of booking these guys then I would say go for it, they were excellent and a pleasure to deal with in the lead up to our wedding." - Nick Lightowler

Who are they?
The Red Letters are a young party band with a fast-growing reputation thanks to their polished, energetic and entertaining live performances. Despite averaging in their early 30’s, band members are highly competent musicians with experience beyond their ages. They have also clocked an impressive number of gigging hours together, creating that special chemistry which helps turn a good night, into a great night.

The Red Letters boast two graduates of the prestigious Brighton Institute of Modern Music as well as a Popular Music BA (Hons) graduate. Their extensive performance experience includes weddings, functions and music festivals including Strawberry Moon, Live Fest and Bearded Theory (Best Small Festival 2013). The result is four confident and experienced musicians who know how to work a crowd. The Red Letters' previous clients include The National Trust and Severn Trent Water.

What sort of music do they play?
The band are regularly complimented on the variety, quality and uniqueness of their set list. From Elvis, The Beatles, Stones and The Monkeys, to Green Day, McFly and more contemporary acts such as The Killers, Bastille, Walk the Moon and Bruno Mars. Covering a wide range of genres from classic rock, to pop, and all the way from funk to punk! The Red Letters can play to a mixed crowd and leave everyone satisfied.

Prefer a specific sound? The Red Letters are happy to work with every client to create bespoke set lists from their wide repertoire. Want to ground things in rock n' roll? No problem! Want to keep things contemporary? That's fine too!

The Red Letters are experts at providing a likeness to the original version of a song but also pride themselves on their ability to inject a fresh and fun originality into your special event. With entertaining twists and intelligent medleys, this band will keep you and your guests entertained and in the party spirit all night long.

What will the band look like?

For weddings and corporate events, the band can appear fully-suited and booted. Or, if you prefer, they will dress less formally or adjust their image to suit your preferences.

Your Event
The Red Letters can tailor their set lengths and timings to your specific requirements. From 3 x 40 minute sets, to 2 x 1 hour sets, or whatever would best suit your event. The band are able to adapt the content of their set in any arrangement to create and maintain the party atmosphere throughout the evening.

The Red Letters are happy to play music through their PA system between sets either from your device, or from theirs via their Spotify premium account. They are currently unable to take requests on the night in the way a DJ would, but can create personalised playlists prior to the event to suit you and your guest's musical tastes.

The band ideally require a stage space of approximately 5 x 4 metres but will accommodate any kind of space and type of room available.

Please note; If your venue has a sound limiter unsuitable for live bands, this may affect The Red Letters’ ability to perform in their usual style. Please be sure to check your venue’s sound policy to avoid disappointment. Check out Alive Network's excellent guide to bands and sound limiters here.
