Full Biography
London Bloco was founded in 2018 with the intention of bringing a bit of the tradition of Brazilian carnival to the UK. Every year thousands gather in Rio de Janeiro streets to celebrate carnival and to listen and party to the music of the many different street bands that the city has to offer.
With that in mind, trumpeter and founder of London Bloco, Gabriel Dias, created the band by arranging and rehearsing popular songs from all over the world. Dias is originally from Rio and has studied music at the Juilliard School in New York.
London Bloco mixes Brazilian grooves with pop music and all-time favourite songs. The band performs regularly for corporate events, weddings, festivals, birthday parties and others. They have also made their international debut in Capri and Toulouse.
In 2020 the band partnered with Jägermeister to perform in events all over the UK and to create online content during lockdown.They aim to keep spreading joy by honouring the spirit of carnival to their audiences. Viva o Carnaval!
