Cyber Robot — World-Famous Interactive Robot Entertainment

Cyber Robot is not simply a walkabout character or a piece of event technology. He is a full-scale live entertainment spectacle. Towering over his audience with illuminated features, extraordinary movement, razor-sharp comic timing and an unmistakable personality, Cyber Robot can turn an ordinary event space into the place everybody suddenly wants to be.

Created in Cornwall, this internationally recognised robotic entertainer has spent more than two decades proving just how powerful the combination of engineering, theatre and audience interaction can be. The act has now amassed around 15,000 performances across 53 countries, appearing everywhere from intimate private functions to major festivals, arenas, television shows and international brand activations. 

The result is an act with a rare quality: people genuinely stop what they are doing to watch him. Crowds gather, phones come out and Cyber Robot begins working the room — talking directly to guests, reacting to what is happening around him, joking with individuals, singing, dancing and creating spontaneous moments that feel completely different from a conventional pre-scripted stage show.

What does Cyber Robot actually do?

Cyber Robot combines live interactive comedy, music, movement, audience participation and futuristic theatre in one highly adaptable performance. His personality is a major part of the attraction. One moment he can be confidently striding into a corporate launch like the guest of honour; the next he may be teasing an audience member, entertaining a child, posing for a wall of camera phones or delivering a bespoke message for the company hosting him.

Performances can incorporate custom dialogue, branded messaging, product references and personalised material, making him particularly effective when an organiser wants the entertainment to serve a genuine marketing purpose rather than simply fill a slot in the running order. Multi-language content can also be incorporated for international audiences.

The music and performance style

For an indication of the scale involved, the original act has performed onstage at Wembley Stadium with Will.i.am to “I Gotta Feeling”, in front of an audience of around 80,000. 

The current production can also incorporate a personalised cinematic introduction and a bespoke song built around an event, company or guest of honour. There is one option that is described as a smooth, orchestral, Sinatra-inspired vocal performance in which specially written lyrics can communicate event or brand messages.

High-profile appearances have included Glastonbury Festival, New York Fashion Week, Wembley Stadium, the London Palladium, the Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit and the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition at Dublin's RDS, where the robot has entertained audiences numbering in the thousands. 

Television audiences may also recognise the act from Britain's Got Talent, where the robot's comedy audition received a standing ovation and four yeses before progressing to the semi-finals. 

Its celebrity history is equally unusual. Cyber Robot has performed with Rihanna, Will.i.am, JLS and Basement Jaxx, appeared alongside Ant & Dec, and has been photographed or featured at events with names including Hugh Jackman, Will Smith, Robbie Williams, Jackie Chan and Rita Ora.
