Their 650+ song repertoire ranging from Pop, Jazz, Classical and TV music makes The Baker Street Quartet perfect for any occasion. Previous Experience of Members
Violin: Andrew
Andrew studied at Trinity College of Music, London, with Ann Hooley and John Crawford and at the Royal Welsh College of Music, Cardiff, with Iwona Boesche. Whilst studying, Andrew led the Rosenberg Quartet who were coached by Michael Bochmann & Nic Pendlebury, and took part in masterclasses with Georg Hadjinkos and the Vellinger Quartet.
Andrew is currently working as a freelance violinist based in Somerset, and has been booked by many clients including the BBC and Channel 4.
Cello: Kate
Kate studied at Bath Spa University with Ruth Zagni, and at the Royal Welsh College of Music with Richard May.
Kate now works as a freelance cellist, performing in local orchestras and ensembles including Bath Philharmonia, and last year went on tour to China with the London-based Amadeus Orchestra. As a session musician, Kate has worked with bands including Kula Shaker and performs regularly with Bristol-based singer/songwriter Phil King.
Kate is also a pianist, and has recorded for an ITV production of Jane Austen’s ‘Persuasion’. An experienced accompanist, she works at all levels from grade exams to recitals.
Viola: Sue
Sue studied at Bath Spa University and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff. In Cardiff she studied with Yu Yasuraoka and at Bath Spa University she studied with Lorna Osbon and Adrian Eales.
Sue freelances for several local orchestras, and as a session musician she has recorded with artists such as Rose Kemp, Benjamin Brunel, Jim Moray, Jane Taylor and Rob Bray to name but a few. Sue has performed for the opening of the Bath International Music Festival for the past two years and performs regularly in Bath and Bristol.
Violin: Tamsin
Tamsin studied at the Royal Welsh College of Music with Peter Hanson and Iwona Boesche, and in Australia with Elizabeth Holliwell. Whilst studying, Tamsin led the Bute String Quartet, and played with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales on a placement scheme for two years.
She is now teaching privately from her home in Somerset and leading workshops for adults with learning difficulties and autism.
Deputy Musicians
The Baker Street String Quartet have several standby members who play with the quartet in the event of one or more of our regular members being unavailable. These musicians have all played with the Baker Street String Quartet on numerous occasions, so our high standard of performance will not be affected.

“My wife and I had heard The Baker String Quartet play at a friend's wedding a few years ago and we said then that they really added something extra special to the day. Fast forward 3 years and we were right. They played (at our request) classical versions of a lot of modern songs which became a real talking point for our guests. Many of them were trying guess what each new song played was before the next on the their tables. For us, sadly, we didn't get to enjoy half of their performance because of have photos taken, but each time we'd walk through the rooms and catch a small clip of a different song it would make us smile. They were just brilliant and would have no hesitation in recommending them and indeed booking them again.”
