A beautiful combination of instruments from North and South India make this duo a unique and original choice for your event's entertainment.
Melody from the bamboo flute is complemented by soulful and subtle rhythmic composition on the tabla. The music is based on the South Indian Ragams which display their own beautiful and enchanting moods and create an atmosphere based on their individual melodic frameworks. You can hear examples of a few of these with the music players opposite.
This duo have played together since 2011 and have created their own interpretations of these South Indian compositions. There are many Ragams to choose from in the repertoire but the duo are happy to suggest suitable options for your event via an email or telephone correspondence. The Indian Flute And Tabla Duo can also play some North Indian Ragas if you would like to include these too.
The Indian Flute And Tabla Duo's live set is usually 45 minutes but can be extended to up to 90 minutes for an additional fee. The PA system is supplied unless it is not a requirement for your event and it will be suitable for an audience of up to 125 people. If you require anything bigger please let us know and we can arrange the hire.
The Indian Flute And Tabla Duo have played at many festivals and church events as well as wedding events around the UK. Both musicians have studied their art in India during a number of long visits between 1999 and 2011. Lucy studied in Kerala and Marc studied in Varanasi, Dharamsala, Haryana and Goa.
The musicians can dress in a simple formal attire or dress with an Indian theme - whichever will suit your event's atmosphere.
