DJ Guy Stevens Performs At Kent’s 1st Civil Wedding
Our fantastic black-tie wedding DJ, Guy Stevens performed at the first ever civil wedding in Kent last week. He's taken the time to write a few words about this enjoyable gig.
Guy Stevens, one of our top black-tie, wedding and party DJs for hire, was pleased to have provided the music for the first Civil Wedding (not partnership) to take place in Kent. The event took place at the Lympne Castle (pronounced “Lim”) near Hythe and Folkstone. The castle itself, parts of which date to the 13th century, has witnessed invasion by the Danes and the Normans, was formerly home to the Archdeacon of Canterbury and was once occupied by Thomas à Becket.
On Saturday 18th April 2015, the splendid old castle saw Leigh and Mathew take their vows in front of friends and family, after which they had a splendid meal and speeches.
Later, wedding DJ Guy Stevens announced the couple on to the dance floor and played their first dance, “Make You Feel My Love” by Adele, followed by Michael Bublé’s “Hold On” for Mathew and his sister- two great song choices. The guests then joined the newly-weds on the dance floor and danced the night away to a wide spectrum of music selected by Guy, with additional requests provided by the guests.
