Fun Wedding Entertainment Inspiration Awesome Wedding Entertainment Ideas
According to the 2012 UK Wedding Study by Splendid Insights, 72% of brides consider it very important to take care of their wedding guests. Since they've made the effort (and done the miles) to be with you to celebrate your wedding, the least you can do is treat them to a feast of entertainment to delight, amaze and amuse. So, squeeze that spreadsheet for a little extra from the budget, and plug those gaps!

Your Wedding Ceremony EntertainmentWhether in a church, registry office or wedding venue, be it themed, religious or low-key, every wedding ceremony involves moments where you can delight your guests. Set the mood with live music as your guests arrive, with a pianist, harpist, saxophonist or group of musicians playing gently in the background. Many brides choose a string quartet, but why not be more original with a sax quartet, or a guitar duo. And when you arrive for the ceremony itself, they can serenade you in, either to famous classical entry music or your favourite pop song (if you've cleared it with the vicar first, of course!).
Music can be at the heart of any wedding or civil partnership ceremony, whether in a church, a registry office or your special wedding venue. In a religious wedding service, you can have hymns sung by a church choir, or for a more energetic feel, a gospel choir. If your service needs a special moment or two, why not hire an opera singer or acoustic singer to delight your guests while you sign the register. Then, rather than leave to a CD playing, ask your musicians to sing or play you both out as spouse and spouse for the first time!
Entertainment At Your Drinks ReceptionYour drinks reception is where everyone can chat with old friends, relax - and wait for you both to have your photos taken! Photos can take a remarkably long time, and not every guest knows many people to talk to, so why not provide a talking point with a close-up magician? These ultra-cool performers love to mix and mingle with your guests, performing tricks right before their eyes with just a few simple everyday items and a pack of cards.
Give you guests a unique moment of the day with a professional caricaturist, a quick on the draw artist who can create a unique portrait in around five minutes. Why not also invite a 'celeb' or two from our list of celebrity look-a-likes, to mingle with your guests, pose for photos and give your wedding the A-list feel! Then, complete the illusion with comedy paparazzi, ready to snap that scoop shot of Auntie Ada with David Beckham, or Uncle George with Marilyn Monroe!
Music at a drinks reception should always enhance the event, but not be so intrusive that people can't talk (or hear what the magician is saying!). So, ask your wedding ceremony musicians to play at your reception (saving time and money), or an acoustic set up from a jazz band, soul band or acoustic duo or trio.
Wedding Meal EntertainmentIt can seem a long wait for food at a wedding breakfast, especially if you're one of the youngest guests, so why not ask your magician or caricaturist to work around the tables until every guest has food in front of them. When those speeches start, an Alive Network children's entertainer can keep the little 'uns amused in a side room so parents can relax and be part of the event without worry.
And when the dishes are being cleared, hold on a minute, that waiter seems a bit keen to sing, and now that waitress is joining in - surprise and entertain your guests with singing waiters, professional opera singers in disguise who always go down a storm.
A Great Evening of EntertainmentRemember those comedy paparazzi from your drinks reception? They're back, snapping your guests as they arrive for the evening event, and capturing their looks of complete amazement as their first canapés are served from a 'living table'.
Drinks don't come more dazzling that custom-made cocktails served by flare bar tenders, who juggle bottles, shakers and exotic ingredients to create masterpieces of mixology in a glass. Set the bar area off with intriguing, exquisite ice sculptures that give your venue that extra air of sophistication.
A chocolate fountain is a great way for guests to enjoy a sweet treat any time during the evening, but do provide lots of napkins as well as delicious nibbles and fruit to dip, to keep those posh frocks nice and clean!
Turn your venue into a Casino Royale for the evening, complete with roulette tables, slots and card games played for fun, not real money. Turn up the heat outside with fire and glow performers, tracing patterns in the dark with flaming clubs, fans, balls and ropes – absolutely mesmerizing and much more intimate than fireworks. Best of all, if the weather turns damp, your fire and glow performers can put on a show inside (just check with your venue first!).
