Yorkshire Strings is a quartet made up of musicians based in the Yorkshire area. The quartet has a wide repertoire, including classical, film themes, and a particularly good selection of modern pop songs.
The members have all been associated with music making in Yorkshire, and are regular players in many local orchestras, including The Leeds Symphony Orchestra and Doncaster Hallgate Chamber Orchestra.
The quartet play regularly for wedding and civil partnership ceremonies, receptions, and other private events in the Leeds, Bradford, Morley, Wakefield and Harrogate areas.
Prestigious venues where Yorkshire Strings have performed include; Wood Hall, Wetherby; Hodsock Priory, Worksop; Carlton Towers, near Goole; Ripley Castle, near Harrogate, and Allerton Castle, near Knaresborough.
There is a wealth of talent amongst the players, and a good selection of music is on offer; from Bach, Mozart, and Pachelbel to The Beatles, Andrew Lloyd-Webber, songs from the shows, and many modern pop songs. The quartet also have a large collection of songs from the 1920`s and 1930`s in their repertoire, by composers such as Irving Berlin and Cole Porter.

"Booking was easy through a combination of an informative website and helpful staff. Everything was organised to our complete satisfaction and went off on the day with minimal input from ourselves. In fact I think we only said our hellos when we arrived and thankyou at the end.
Yorkshire Strings were brilliant. Very professional and played beautifully. The quartet made a very tasteful addition to the success of our day. Can't thank them enough. If a string quartet is what you want, then I can recommend Yorkshire Strings to you.

"Hello,
Everything on the day went fine thank you. The quartet were superb and managed to cope with some drunken requests for the theme tune to the A team! They were moved 3 times for the first dance then outside because the weather was nice and then back to the original room! They were very professional and lovely and would highly reccommend them to anyone. In fact a non-wedding guest asked me for their details they were so good.

"Thank you so much for your assistance in arranging the artists for our wedding, they and you have been superb.
Yorkshire Strings - played beautifully, we had to move them during the day but they coped admirably, their professionalism and ability shone through, my only regret being that I personally did not get the opportunity to speak with them or thank them. I will be writing to thank them separately.
Russell, was out of this world, he was fantastic, what a voice!! Simon and I, and our guests thoroughly enjoyed his performance; he raised the tempo at just the right time and got the guests dancing, outstanding. I would love the opportunity to hear Russell sing again.
Again I will be writing to Russell separately to thank him.
Thanks to these two vital performances during the wedding and reception, our day was better than perfect and a complete success with all our guests, thank you so much, I would not hesitate to book artists through Alive Network again.
