Viramundo provide the best in original authentic Brazilian dance music and combined with the Viramundo Dancers, present a visually stunning show; full of colour, energy, sensuality and, above all a contagious spirit that makes even the shyest jump out of his seat and join in the fun.

The Band is led and directed by British born guitarist/singer PAUL RUMBOL, who is also regarded as the top Cavaquinho player in the UK. Paul has gathered together a glittering array of top International performers in the last 15 years or so. Working with Viramundo for many years percussion player XAVIER OSMIR (Sao Paulo, Brazil), the wonderful vocals of REBECA VALLIM from Rio an established performer in both Europe & Brazil. The virtuoso jazz piano/keyboards of Berklee trained UGO DELMIRANI (Italy). The dynamic Brazilian rhythm section of drummer FABIO BOSCO and bassist MATHEUS NOVA. Rio born Flute & Sax player MARCELO ANDRADE.

Viramundo have played at a wide range of festivals, functions and clubs in Europe and beyond since it was formed in 1991 including: Gran Gran Fiesta, Henley Festival, Glastonbury Festival, Notting Hill Carnival, Sidmouth International Folk Festival. Top Hotel functions at the Hilton, Carlton, Hyatt Carlton, Grosvenor and Savoy hotels.

The band have performed at Benefit concerts for Friends of the Earth, Save the Children, Amnesty International, Greenpeace and Task Brazil. The band appear regularly at Latin Clubs in the UK (Bahia, Bar Tiempo, Bass Clef, HQ, 100 Club, Salsa, Havana, Cuba and many others) and are popular on the University circuit with performances at Cambridge and Oxford University Balls. Viramundo also perform for corporate functions for companies such as Saatchi & Saatchi, Oxford University Press etc....

UK Television appearances include "Good Morning" Breakfast Television, The Big Breakfast and London Tonight. Viramundo have provided music and appeared for Sainsbury's Meals to go advertising campaign and featured on Singapore TV.

Viramundo were very proud to be called to play for Madonna when Versace organized a party for the launch of the film Evita in London in December 1996. And when Mick Jagger wanted a Brazilian band for his birthday a few years ago, the first band to be called was Viramundo.

The Group's most stunning performances are with their own dance troupe, the Viramundo Dancers: featuring spectacular Carnival Samba costumes, sensual mulata dancers, Capoeira (Brazilian Acrobatic Martial Art Dance), Lambada, Afro-Brazilian Dance, Brazilian North Eastern Folkloric dances and much more.
