Sue Barron has sung in various genres of music including 4 part harmony acappella in which she performed at the Georgia Bowl in Atlanta in 1999. Other venues include Bridgewater Hall Manchester; Plaza Theatre Stockport; Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester; Thameside Theatre, London. Having a passion for jazz, Sue formed the band in 2002 and the they have been performing jazz standards and swing regularly ever since in hotels, bars, clubs, restaurants, and for many weddings and private functions, as well as appearing in Jazz Events. The band also had the honour of supporting the late Humprhey Lyttleton band.
The band performs a mixture of jazz standards, swing, blues, some Latin material and also some classic popular songs with a jazz interpretation.The pace can vary from soft dinner jazz and ballads that add atmosphere and ambience to an occasion, to more upbeat numbers to dance to. Think Ella Fitzgerald, Diane krawl, Nina Simone, Billy Holiday, Natalie Cole, Carol King, Sade – they are all artists that are the group’s inspiration. All the band members share a love of this music and that comes across in the delivery which is heartfelt and vibrant, and Sue’s sultry vocals really lend themselves to this material.

"On the day Sue Barron's arrival, set up and start time were all on time – very efficient and professional.
The band dressed as we had asked, played the songs we had requested, were flexible polite and pleasant. All present felt the band played well, playing quiet sensitive dinner jazz during our meal and more up-beat music for dancing. They responded to requests and paused when asked to for wedding speeches etc. If anything, they exceeded our expectations.
On the night, the band themselves were quick to set up, well presented, and flexible. They were unobtrusive when they needed to be, being quiet during speeches and our bridal waltz, and kicked off with gusto once more after that. Sue Barron has gathered around her excellent and sensitive musicians who could quietly accompany a diner or have a room dancing.
More than highly recommended."

I was able to listen to recordings of the Sue Baron Jazz quartet before choosing them. Once I had decided on them for my wedding, the Alive Network provided me with security and a point of contact for any problems: the price was more than reasonable. On the night, the band themselves were quick to set up, well presented, and flexible. They were unobtrusive when they needed to be, being quiet during speeches and our bridal waltz, and kicked off with gusto once more after that.
