“There’s no substitute for good time and tone... Tender or wild her voice never lost its warmth and her phrasing had an in-built propulsion rarely heard from others.” Jack Massarik, London Evening Standard
**** Growing up in a house filled with music, from the folk, calypso and opera enjoyed by her Jamaican born mother to the trad, swing and be-bop from her jazz-obsessed father, Louise Parker, aptly named after Louis Armstrong, was born to create the sort of soulful jazz she is rapidly gaining a reputation for.
A big hit on the festival circuit and a regular on Radio 2’s Best of Jazz, British vocalist, Louise Parker is a powerful live performer and a skilful interpreter of swing, blues and gospel classics. She commits to each song with the warmth, spirit and passion of the great jazz divas.
Combining a potent mix of funk and gospel, Louise blends an effortless rhythmical style with a sweet warm tone and daring scatting to create a performance which truly stirs the soul.
Citing influences that include Sarah Vaughan, and Billie Holiday, Louise Parker has been enchanting audiences at venues and festivals around the UK including, Glastonbury Festival, Pizza Express, The Isle of Wight International Jazz Festival, Lichfield Music Festival with the Humphrey Lyttelton Band and Plymouth Orange Music Festival among others.
Whether performing with her own Louise Parker Trio or with other notable jazz musicians such as BBC Jazz Award winner, saxophonist Alan Barnes, Louise Parker is not to be missed.
Your Event Fully self contained with her own PA 750 watt system, Louise can provide music between sets - of the jazz genre and most other genres - for no extra charge. She is also happy to consider requests; the first for no extra charge and any subsequent songs for a small fee. Please ask your agent for more details.

Transcription from HUMPHREY LYTTELTON - ‘Best of Jazz’ BBC Radio 2 Monday 16th July 2007
‘Here’s a splendid new voice on the block taking cheerful liberties with the song ‘Love Me Or Leave Me’ by songwriter’s Donaldson and Kahn, and swinging like fury in the process.
Yeah, well, the name which I’ve no doubt will soon be household, is Louise Parker who shows remarkable style and assurance after only six years in the singing business.
Incidentally, her father, a crazy jazz fan, named her Louise after - Louis Armstrong.
The pianist there was Craig Milverton who’s given Louise much encouragement, and should feel well rewarded by this hugely impressive self-produced album called ‘No More Strangers’.
And if the CD’s not picked up by a commercial label then the music business is in an even sorrier state than I imagined.’
