The Explosives are a versatile four piece band specialising in songs from the 50s to the present; Elvis to Robbie Beatles to Blur Monkees to Madness Stones to Coldplay Kinks to Kaiser Chiefs alongside 70s funk 60s soul Britpop Rock and much much more.

Described by a recent satisfied customer as “the best band we’ve ever seen here” they attract rave responses wherever they play. Testament to the fact that Kelvin Stewart Steve and Dave have vast experience in the music industry working alongside many top names including Desmond Dekker, Steve Marriott, Bad Manners, Dodgy, Bluetones and Frank Bruno!!!

Stewart and Kelvin also performed in 70s tribute band “The Ballroom Blitz Kids”, while Dave played Keyboards and bass in top covers bands ‘City Heat’ & ‘Backin’ Time’, playing at many
military bases both here and abroad. The band usually perform for two hours in either 2 or 3 sets, but can easily adapt to suit most occasions (e.g. 60s themed nights etc). They have their own PA and lighting, and can provide additional music on CD or ipod  before, after and in between sets.

The Band are always open to requests both before gigs (first dances etc) and during. This keeps everyone happy and means their play list is expanding every week. BLOWUP create a great sound with just four drums, three voices, two guitars, one bass, and some additional keyboards; all without the aid of a safety net. The Explosives are based in London but willing to travel to almost anywhere in mainland UK.

Your Event
The band travel with a CD player and iPod player. They can also hook up your equipment to our PA if required.
