Straight No Chaser are based in Suffolk and are available for hire for parties and corporate functions across the UK. They can enhance any event with live guitar and saxophone music playing a large repertoire of jazz standards and popular songs.
Straight No Chaser have their own portable amplification with no need for a mains supply (please note; portable amplification is suitable for duo only). This means there is huge logistical flexibility; they can play in any area and even outdoors with minimal fuss. Set up time is incredibly fast and hassle free only taking 10 minutes upon arrival to set up and play.
Straight No Chaser is more than happy to comply with dress code and be flexible with set times to satisfy your specifications and ensure your event runs smoothly and everyone has a great time.
Straight No Chaser are available in a variety of line ups to suit the occasion from the duo to a jazz quartet:

We recommend the duo or trio for subtle background ambience whereas the quartet below is more appropriate as the main feature of an event.

The Musicians
George Grant (Saxophone) is an exceptional jazz saxophonist and graduate from the prestigious Leeds College of Music. George began playing saxophone aged 12 and by 17 was performing regularly at Jazz venues in Cambridgeshire. During this time George began studying privately with top UK saxophonist and composer Gilad Atzmon.
Since graduating from Leeds College of Music in June 2009 George has maintained an active role in the Leeds music scene regularly performing with bands covering a variety of styles such as Pop Soul Funk and Jazz. George has also performed with his own Jazz quintet at top Leeds music venues. George is equally comfortable as a front line jazz improviser or taking a back seat in a horn section as he has exemplified throughout his career with leading UK function band The White Keys.
Rick Holmes (Guitar) is a talented graduate from Leeds College of Music with a BA (Hons) in Jazz Studies. In 2008/2009 he held the guitar chair in the LCM Big Band which toured the North of England and performed in the BBC venue with special guest Steve Waterman. Rick has been gigging professionally for a number of years and has built up a spectacular musical relationship with alto saxophonist George Grant over the last three years.

"Very happy with the service provided by Alive Network. Was able to find a quality act with a only a couple of weeks left to go to my son's christening. I was kept informed at all stages and everything was made very easy. Staff at Alive Network were helpful and friendly.
As for the band Straight No Chaser were very impressive and set the tone for the event perfectly with their mellow jazz. I would definitely recommend them."

"We booked STRAIGHT NO CHASER through ALIVE NETWORK to play for our 40th Birthday Party on the 15th Oct 2011.
SNC arrived well in advance, were well organised and were set up completely on time . They were totally self sufficient.
The two guys were extremely polite, friendly, well presented and professional. An absolute pleasure to have with us. The performance was superb and greatly appreciated and enjoyed by our guests from whom we had numerous comments as to how much SNC were enjoyed.
The range of music was great and they are very talented. They were able to deal with requests with ease and provided a wonderful ambience and atmosphere . I cannot think of a way in which their performance could have been impoved. I hope you will pass this info onto them both.
We had not heard of Alive Network and had just been googling for sax players for parties. We were introduced to SNC through them. Ten out of ten for the service from Alive Network. They were fast, efficient, helpful and professional (Clare was our contact).
It was hard to locate local artists and I was concerned about the distance SNC would be travelling, but that was no issue whatsoever.
The Alive Network website was by far the easiest and most user friendly especially with the ' availabilty check' option. We chose SNC partly to match our budget and partly because of the info and demo on the site.
Thanks to SNC and Alive Network for a great service/talent which enabled us to create the exact atmosphere we wanted at the party.
