Soul Jazz Duo is the UK's freshest two piece band made up of Joe Shepherd on keys supporting Ed Hoyland's soulful vocals. Both are renowned and succesful artists in their own right having headlined London's premiere venues (KOKO Jazz Cafe; 100Club) and played at the major UK festivals (Glastonbury; Secret Garden etc). They have now combined to offer you an incredible new show concentrating on a Soul and Jazz vibe but with a little extra you might not have expected.

Soul Jazz Duo specialise in Soul Jazz and R&B - think 'Ain't no sunshine' and 'Light my Fire' (Bill Withers); to 'Summertime' (Gershwin); 'Cry me a river' (Hamilton); to 'Frontin' (Cullum version). However they can also Rock and Roll 'Great Balls of Fire' (Jerry Lee Lewis); Sing the Blues'; 'Tears in Heaven' (Clapton); 'Ain't that a Kick in the Head' (Dean Martin); and choochookachoo 'I am the Walrus' and 'Come Together' (The Beatles).

They can also provide an appropriate MP3 mix between sets for no extra costs and with a couple of weeks' notice will learn the song of your choice as a 'thank you' for booking them. Joe is also an accomplished Jazz pianist in his own right so afternoon Jazz Piano can also chosen as an option.

Soul Jazz Duo use a top of the range PA which can be set up quickly and unobtrusively. Joe uses a state of the art Nord Stage 88 Stage piano. The best that money can buy. He alternates between Piano Rhodes Clav and Hammond depending on the song and is a master at all.
