The answer is the uniquely entertaining 7-piece band called One Jump Ahead. They've also got over 200 songs in their repertoire to get people dancing and enjoying themselves! They have wowed audiences from Islington to Israel Clerkenwell to County Cork and from Docklands to Deutschland!
One Jump Ahead are led by singer saxophonist and songwriter Kit Packham accompanied by piano guitar bass drums trumpet and another saxophone. The repertoire includes great swing standards, “Rat Pack” numbers and a few forgotten gems. With some carefully selected rock’n’roll songs, 1960s soul hits and a few vintage pop classics, they keep the dance floor busy from start to finish. The swinging tempos, sizzling sax solos and humour of 40s jump/jive star Louis Jordan have inspired Kit to compose his own, critically acclaimed material. While club audiences can expect up to 50% originals, at private functions the band concentrate on well-known numbers that make everyone want to get up and dance. Since they've been active for over 22 years now, they really understand what's required. If your personal favourite doesn't appear in their songlist, they can usually play it if you can provide a recording of it in good time!
Their albums reflect the band’s good-time approach, beginning with “On the Shady Side of the Street’ (released under their earlier name “Kit Packham & the Sudden Jump Band”). “One Jump Ahead”, “From Top to Toe” and “Jumpin’ On The Bandwagon” followed, drawing the phrases “quite superb”, “notable contributions to the genre”, “classic R&B”, “top-class playing” and “very impressive” (among many other compliments) from the critics.
“You guys have sure done your homework!”, were New Orleans singer/pianist Frankie Ford’s words after the band accompanied him during his 1992 European tour. Paul Jones also praised them after their session for his R&B programme on BBC Radio 2. When they broadcast live from GLR for Mary Costello her comment was “Absolutely brilliant!” Kit has been interviewed on Jazz FM, RTM, BBC Radio Cambridgeshire and BBC Radio Kent, and Blues magazine Blueprint (now called Blues In Britain) featured One Jump Ahead in its “Best of British” series.

"Dear Kit & "One Jump Ahead"
What a performance you put in at our wedding on 28th December 2009! We wanted to say a big thanks because you guys managed to pack out the dance floor all night long.
Nearly all the guests remarked on how great the band was & everyone got up to boogy, including my 80 year old great aunt! Many felt that you "made" the wedding.
So thanks again, we will be absolutely recommending you to anyone looking for a band for any occasion.

P.S: Your rendition of Robbie Williams' big band version of "Have You Met Miss Jones" was fantastic - we managed to get through the dance without a hitch (for the first time!)

"What a fantastic evening! The food was scrumptious, the wine flowed and people boogied the night away to the fantastic sounds of 'The Kit Packham Band'. We almost didn't let him go home at the midnight hour!! No-one wanted the fun to end.

Thank you for your email the evening was a great success & I am sure people will be talking about it for a while yet! The band went down a storm, especially after such disapointment that we had to cancel the marquee. We made good use of the clubhouse and you would never have known. The band were so friendly & polite & I think the only critisism was that they had to end! We hope they enjoyed coming here as much as we enjoyed having them. They had the dancefloor filled the whole night!
We are already thinking about next years' event & how to better it so I might be in touch for other idea's, many thanks for all your help
