Kay is a well-known performer in the North where her lively personality and stunning vocal technique combine to make any evening a truly spectacular event!
Originally trained at the RNCM and the prestigious National Opera Studio she is a most versatile singer with a wide range of repertoire. Her operatic work has included singing with the Glyndebourne Festival Opera Scottish Opera Opera North and Several smaller companies; notably the Cambridge Handel Opera Group for which she has sung a total of 5 major roles.
She is constantly in demand for Oratorio work and has sung with the Royal Choral Society as well as many other choirs throughout the country. Kay has also sung with the Halle Orchestra and the Welsh National Opera Orchestra, and has appeared twice at the City Varieties Theatre in Leeds in 'The Good Old Days'. In November 2004, 'Sky' viewers will have seen her sing the Australian National Anthem in front of a crowd of 40, 000 at Ellend Road, Leeds at the Gillette Tri-Nations Rugby Final, and last season at the 3 New Zealand games where she sang their national anthem. The team even made her an honorary Kiwi after they had learned that she had tackled their anthem, in Maori, injust 4 days!
Last year she recorded the vocally demanding role of 'Isoline' in 'The Maid of Artois' by Michael Balfe, which was released in the autumn to excellent reviews, including as featured on Radio 3, and she is currently working on an album of Victorian songs.
Kay has recently branched out into the world of entertaining at corporate events, Golf Club, Masonic and Rotary Club Dinners and is becoming very much in demand.
Future engagements include several concerts and dinners including singing with the Manchester Camerata and Tim Redmond, for the Francis Hospice Trust Gala Event.
Kay can perform wide range of music at your event; from jazz to musicals to opera, plus sacred music at wedding ceremonies. This means Kay is very flexible with regards performance times, so please ask your agent for specific requests. "Kay was punctual, professional and extremely accomodating.
Kay has a fantastic voice and was very kind to my Mum who was celebrating her 80th Birthday by even giving my Mum a beautiful birthday card which my Mum appreciated.
During the opera there was many of the guests who were in tears because Kay's voice is truly beautiful.
I would have no hesitation in asking Kay to perform at a future event and would recommend Kay to anyone who is looking for a classical/Jazz/Soprano singer.
Thank you Kay for making my Mum's birthday so special. Also thank you to Alive Network and to Graham for ensuring the booking was a smooth process."
