Highlights * Ex-Climax Blues Band members in acoustic duo * Over 40 years of world-wide experience * 60s Acoustic hits as well as 80s and 90s hits * Expands up to 4 piece band if requested * Low rates in the Midlands Derek Holt Derek is founder member of the Climax Blues band who were formed in 1968 and recorded over twenty albums. They had hits with “Couldn’t Get it Right” and “I Love You” which were both Top Five in the charts worldwide. Derek has performed in venues such as The Albert Hall Madison Square Garden The Hollywood Bowl Carnegie Hall to name a few. His biggest audience was At Soldier Field in Chicago playing in front of 120,000 people.
He has played bass guitar for people such as Chuck Berry, Stewart Copeland, Leslie West & Alvin Lee. He was managed by Miles Copeland (Manager of The Police) and has been in the music business for almost 40 years making Derek a seasoned professional.
Dave Day Multi -instrumentalist and vocalist, Dave was born in Stoke on Trent and has played in numerous bands in the area. He has a vast repertoire of songs, plays wonderful guitar and is highly respected on the circuit. Apart from being a musician, he currently runs his own tour Managing/ Production Company working with such acts as Paulo Nutini, Christina Aguilera, Tony Christie, Blue, Girls Aloud and Guns and Roses to name a few. Your Event Holt and Day can provide music of any style in the form of CDs or MP3s between sets for no extra charge. Also they are happy to play requests themselves, provided they have at least 4 weeks' notice, free of charge. The Holt and Day Band The band can be augmented to a four piece male rock and pop band, playing hits from Elvis, Chuck Berry, Van Morrison, The Beatles, The Eagles, Steely Dan, Bad Company, Eric Clapton and Paul Carrick.
The band features the talents of Colin Brown: amazing multi-instrumentalist specialising in keyboards and vocals; and currently touring with Barclay James Harvest; and John Cuffley: drummer, member of the Climax Blues Band; a professional and versatile musician.
Derek has a varied collective of musicians he works with and can provide a number of combinations of different musicians to suit any number of styles required, either a duo, trio or four piece band, can include saxophone, anything from soul to jazz, blues to rock.

"Holt and Day were booked for our 10th Anniversary Party
(afternoon and evening). Together with their two other band members,
they were a top class act, who helped to provide an excellent climax
to the whole event. The blend of 60s, 70s and 80s music kept the
dance floor occupied most of the night, and the non-dancers also
enjoyed the performance. A perfect end to a perfect day for us. A
first class and attentive service was received from Nick at Alive
Network and I would recommend this outfit to anyone considering
booking for similar parties, weddings and other special functions
without hesitation.
