What Have They Done Before? Pete Martelle co-lead vocalist of Dr Dynamite has one attitude towards music and the band: "We work hard we play hard"...
With a natural ability for entertainment an acute sense of rhythm style and a sweet yet powerful vocal range as well as a no nonsense hard work ethic Pete puts his all into every live show. He has performed throughout the UK and Ireland for many function and party bands at Weddings, Birthdays, Bar-Mitzvah’s, Corporate events…you name it!
He has also recorded with some great original performers as a session vocalist and guitarist.
Lucy Westhead is the newest addition to the Dr Dynamite crew. She was chosen to co-front the band not only because of her sweet vocal tone, but for her stunning looks and stage presence also. Lucy has worked with the best around and has performed at the very highest level. She recently featured as a back up singer on the X-factor finals and also has a very established dance background.
The other members of Dr Dynamite have vast experience on the national and International circuits and have been employed in lots of session work for countless artists. They collectively as well as individually are excellent professional musicians with influence in jazz funk soul pop and rock.
What Sort of Music Do They Play? What makes Dr Dynamite unique is their upkeep with the latest trends. Whilst so many other acts depend on the same old format Dr Dynamite are primarily a modern cover act of all things pop!
Expect to hear Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Adele, Cee Lo Green, Amy Winehouse, Kanye West and plenty of up to date top 40 hits!
Dr Dynamite also play plenty of old school classics from Michael Jackson to James Brown to the Beatles so that the audience young and old can get down and boogie all night!
Dr Dynamite will always play a live request at a first dance at a wedding so that your evening will start in the best possible way.
Your Event Dr Dynamite provide the very best professional Sound & Equipment at every live show. Individually they use the very best instruments and collectively they use a superlative sound system so that your party has that vintage live feel and electric party ambience!
With a huge amount of enthusiasm and talent Dr Dynamite give clients a very accurate rendition of their Funky Pop repertoire and in most cases..their versions are even better than the original! The lead singers Lucy & Pete always makes sure that the audience participates in the show by interacting with all you party people in order to keep everybody dancing all night!
If required the show can also include an after band DJ set up so that the party can continue into the wee hours!
Equipment Dr Dynamite provide a 1500Watt Yamaha PA system with crystal clear top speakers and booming bass bins to keep your party pumping! The microphone equipment (SHURE SM range) instruments (FENDER MUSICMAN SELMER ROLAND, NORD, YAMAHA) and amplification costs (VOX, HUGHES & KETTNER, MARSHALL) are of the finest quality and standard and no expenses have been spared.
A full on stage and disco-dance floor lighting set up will also ensure your night has the feel of the funkiest nightclub!

"Everybody thought the band was great and loved the music; it was just the right mix of modern and funky stuff from the past and kept large numbers of 50 somethings (and several teenagers) boogying very happily and energetically – even those who don’t normally make a habit if dancing – it was irresistible!
I very much appreciated the fact Pete also organised the ‘mood music’, manned the disco once the band had stopped playing and included the songs that were my particular favourites. The band were all very professional, pleasant and happy to accommodate all our requests.
I would heartily recommend Dr D for any party giver looking for great music, favourite tunes and no ‘cheese’ factor. We would all dearly have loved to have kept on dancing for several more hours but we were stymied by London licensing rules! "

"Thank you so much guys for providing an AMAZING 3 set bonanza at our wedding. You exceeded our expectations and kept the dance floor packed all night long.
As musicians ourselves we hunted high and low for the right band for our wedding and we got it spot-on with Dr Dynamite - a far cry from the usual cheesy wedding band!
