Desire are a sophisticated outfit offering a charmingly charismatic performance with smooth vocals, eloquent jazz guitar and double bass. The trio are perfect for intimate settings, background music, dinner jazz or drinks receptions and canapés. For larger parties where dance is encouraged, Desire certainly have got that swing! Employing some of the UK's most talented Jazz Musicians, a quartet is available with the addition of drums. Whatever your requirements, Desire are a class act for any occasion!

Desire's emphasis is on ensuring the music at your event is heartfelt and entertaining, contributing to a memorable occasion which runs smoothly. Their repertoire consists of well known 'standards' from artists such as Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Rogers & Hart, and Irving Berlin. Songs made famous by the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Peggy Lee and Julie London including the occasional twist and surprise, their take on modern songs in a jazz style!

The professional and highly experienced group will always appear glamorous and in keeping with your event be it in evening dress and black tie smart or casual.

Previous Experience
Johanna (vocals) has been singing professionally for many years and has been specialising in Jazz performances for the past 6 years. Johanna is a passionate and dynamic performer and has a distinctive voice influenced by the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Julie London and contemporaries such as Stacy Kent.

Martin (guitar) a Bachelor of the Arts in Contemporary World Jazz, is an accomplished guitarist with over 18 years experience. His influences include Wes Montgomery, Joe Pass, Tal Farlow and George Benson. Martin has worked with artists such as New Orleans jazz ambassador Lillian Boutte, trumpet player Damon Brown and saxophonist Raphael Ravenscroft, flamenco guitarist Esteban Antonio, Marty Wilson-Piper (guitarist in The Church, All About Eve).

Tim (double bass) also a Bachelor of the Arts in Contemporary World Jazz and a natural talent to the double bass. He has 20 years experience as a bassist and during that time has been fortunate to perform with renowned jazz artists such as Damon Brown and Brandon Allen. He is strongly influenced by the work of John Taylor, Palle Danielsson, Dave Holland, Charlie Haden, and Scott Lafaro.

Together they form an impressive trio marrying standard repertoire and contemporary jazz with an occasional twist, producing a passionate and exciting sound.
