Your version of Glasgow Love Theme is something that is going to stay with us for the rest of our lives and we cannot thank you enough.

As a classical guitarist Stephen specialises in the suave and romantic style of Spanish classical music but also has an interest in early music from England and he has been recognised as an expert and sensitive performer of guitar arrangements of John Dowland’s lute works. While being able to perform exclusive and rare works of classical music Stephen also covers all the popular classics and many hits from the 20th (and 21st) Century.

Stephen has been playing the guitar since he was ten and has spent his life to date honing his skills as a performer. A specialist in classical and Spanish guitar styles he can draw from a huge repertoire of pieces ranging from Elizabethan dances to Classical sonatas Romantic ballads and 20th century standards. His mastery of the guitar also means he is able to arrange and prepare almost any modern pop song by request (given some notice!) which can then be performed at your function.

Stephen began guitar lessons at the relatively late age of thirteen but quickly progressed through the grades astonishingly reaching grade 8 just four years later before going on to study music at the University of Liverpool. On graduating he moved to Spain where for the next year he studied the guitar in its true spiritual home – Andalucía – travelling around the south of Spain holding recitals busking and playing in bars and restaurants. This proved to be a real Baptism of fire as he found the Spanish people both appreciative and critical which meant he really had to be on the top of his game!

On return to the UK Stephen set up his private teaching practice in Merseyside where he shared his love for the guitar while continuing his performing work. During this time he began working with local bands playing a range of indie and country music on tour and in the studio. He now divides his time between playing in a country rock duo a live electronic dance band and his solo classical performances – a truly versatile performer!

All this means that whatever your musical needs Stephen is sure to perform beautifully elegant and refined music to help make your event extra special.

The songs you played in the church were beautiful and had a lot of meaning for Leona and myself and you played them above and beyond our expectations.

I am just disappointed that I didnt get to hear much of your set outside the church because we were dragged off to pull loads of embarrasing poses for the photographer.
