Vintage Music & Type Of Show Blue Note Mitch & The Red Hot Jacks play three different types of set;
- Ska, Soul & Rock ’N’ Roll hits of the 1960s to the present day! - Jazz, Swing & Jive hits of the 1930s to the 1960s! - Classic ska tunes of the 1960s to the 1980s!
These are great fun with interactive audience participation in each genres & include between one and two hours of live playing for each genre.
The Jazz sets can be played as background music for a light & classy afternoon or as a fully engaging evening of dance-floor-filling music featuring some of Jazz’s finest & most memorable songs.
The Pop, Rock, Soul & Rock ’N’ Roll sets are also very engaging, louder than the Jazz & designed to get people dancing with the grooviest & most iconic vintage hits as well as modern ‘Indie’ anthems.
The Ska sets are for the niche ska lover and are very energetic and full of all the favourite ska tunes.
Blue Note Mitch, the singer, has a great ‘feel’ for passionate music & loves engaging in a friendly & entertaining dialogue with audiences as well as incorporating participatory singing & dancing with the audience into the show. If the audience are shy, Blue Note Mitch will hold back & go easy on them but if it’s a party you want, Mitch will be in his element!
Previous Experience The band members each average at least 15 years performance experience & have engaged in tours around various areas of the world including the Alps, The Caribbean, Dubai, America and Mainland Europe.
They have a broad range of professional experience between them ranging from theatre, classical music, pop music, studio recording & writing for television & dance as well as corporate performance and mainstream festivals such as Glastonbury, The Secret Garden Party, Download and The Big Chill.
Outside of the band, members play & teach various instruments & styles of music from classical to samba and salsa, traditional African music to Electronic dance & live dub-reggae.
They have all performed at venues of notoriety including The Royal Albert Hall and The Royal Festival Hall in London, The Lincoln Centre & Madison Square Gardens in New York, The World Art Stage in Edinburgh, The Queen’s Hall Theatre in Trinidad, Courchevel Ski-slope in France and The Yorkshire Playhouse and York Minster.
Four members of the Red Hot Jacks have honours degrees in music & all the members have written & recorded their own material.

"Blue Note Mitch and the Red Hot Jacks were absolutely superb! They really did everything that they could to help make our Christmas Party fun and appealing to everybody. We only received positive feedback from our guests, and nobody wanted the music to stop. It was fantastic to see everybody up dancing and smiling, we really cannot thank the guys enough."

"We took a chance when we made the booking as we had not heard of the group. It was just that they seemed to fit the bill with the music we required as we needed a versatile act that could play big band for the first half of our volunteer event and up the anti to rock and roll for the second half, a tall order...
This was exactly what happened in just they way we wanted, not only that but the song choice was excellent and the smiles on everyones faces and the fact people got up and danced, even in wheelchairs said we had made a good choice!
Budget was always an issue but these guys were excellent value for money and I would recommend them for any event."

"How do you find a band that suits a birthday party for an 80 yr old and his son of 30? Book Blue Note Mitch and the Red Hot Jacks!
They fitted the bill superbly, playing two sets starting with music appropriate for the older guests and building to a wonderfully wild second set which had all the 25+ (and older!) dancing their socks off! Absolutely superb.
Not only were they fun to watch but their rhythm section and vocals were brilliant. I defy anyone not to enjoy their exuberance and joie de vivre! As proof, the “main man” aged 80 was taken to hospital at the start of the evening and Mitch and his band brought what could have been a total calamity for the 90 guests round and lifted everyone’s spirits brilliantly.
I would have no hesitation in booking them again because they certainly ticked all the boxes we could think of and were a delightful, charming group of musicians. They provided a memorable evening which friends are still talking about.

"When we set out to look for a band to play our at wedding, we knew there was going to be an element of faith in selecting the perfect band. We had no recommendations to go with so we just got on google to shop around for one. Then we found Blue-Note Mitch and the Red Hot Jacks. We decided to stop and give them a listen because we liked their name, and the rest is history.
They played at our wedding, a rather intimate setting and truly set the stage for an lively party. Everyone was up dancing, and having a grand old time. The band was even so accommodating to allow for a guest singer, the cousin of the bride to come up and sing an impromptu song! We loved having them there, they were personable, yet professional. Most importantly, everyone had a good time and thanked us for putting on a fine wedding and good gig to follow!
For that, we got to give credit to Blue-Note Mitch and the Red Hot Jacks!!!!! Thank You for helping make our day even more special!"

"Just wanted to say thank you so much for rockin' my sister-in-law's wedding party! You guys were awesome from the first note - Perfectly read the mood of the evening and got everyone up on the dancefloor, from 4 year olds to 74 year olds!!
I'm sorry that my new role as a father didn’t allow me to stay till the end of the evening but what I saw of the first set was electric!! Teaching us the dance moves to King Of The Swingers was a stroke of genius and really helped everyone to lose their inhibitions, let their hair down, and have a great party with you guys.

"Blue Note Mitch and the Red Hot Jacks were superb from start to finish, getting everyone up dancing and playing classic songs all the way through their set catering for all ages. They’re a talented band and very professional, I got a call 2 weeks prior to the Wedding to get asked our preference of songs etc. to make sure we were getting the set we wanted, it’s the little things that can make all the difference. I highly recommend this band for any event.

"The Alive co-ordinator Clare was fantastic from start to end. She took the stress out of a very hard last minute booking for a very big party.
The band arrived on time and were very professional to work with through the whole night. They looked and sounded the part. We had over 700 guests from all different ages who were all very happily entertained with the medlay of old and new classics.
Great night! Great entertainment! Would highly recommend. "

"What a FANTASTIC Band !!!!! I would recommend them to anyone who wants a jolly good PARTY!!!
Not only were Mitch and the guys polite, easy going, happy and reassuring (For a Bride!) ... their music had bags of charisma, attitude and energy. It is IMPOSSIBLE to not get up and dance, even my Dad who is not a show man in any way was up having the time of his life.
We chose the Ska/ Rock n Roll set (with some Reggae thrown in, ode to our Wedding in Florida) and every single song was a classic everyone knew.
FANTASTIC value for money (We paid a little extra for 12pm- 1 am set which I'd recommend) LOVELY GUYS, accommodating to all of our needs or concerns, no matter how small. NOT CHEESY IN THE SLIGHTST (I am 26 years old and a trained actor/musician so I am very particular about "second rate" and "cringe worthy" acts! This band is neither of those things)
All our friends and family said best part of our Wedding reception was the band!"
